My partner and I were in Chicago for the first time in Nov. 2024. Great staff, has just the right touch of a dive bar but with more modern drinks. Everything was decorated to the nine with Christmas decor, most of it in green to stay in the pub spirit.

This restaurant is very quaint, with a very original Irish decor, but also with a strong American spirit. The food is very good, the beers are cold, and the service is excellent. The clam chowder is excellent!

Rolled into Butch McGuire’s on Division and dropped about $55 on a classic cheeseburger, a half‑dozen buffalo wings, and loaded waffle fries, plus a couple beers. Food’s hearty and portions are solid, burger was juicy, fries hit. But it’s loud and the bar crowd can feel crowded early. Still, great pub vibes if you’re feelin’ the Rowdy Gold Coast energy.
