This place is a sleeper that makes a great garlic chicken salad sandwich on a dutch crunch bread.
A dutch crunch bread, when baked, has a pillowy inside but the exterior is a crispy crackled crust that looks similar to the bark og a tree/log. And the crunch is second to none!!! This should be used on all sandwiches!!!
The creamy garlic chicken salad has chunks of premium white meat with a hint of garlic, followed by heat from the giardeneria. All this is wrapped up with liberal amounts of cooling shredded lettuce. And the sub sandwich was huge and price point was fairly low at under $13 for this size. Definitely going to come back and try other ones in the future.
The space is small and dark, a bit cramped and many students tend to be socializing or studying. And that makes sense since these prices are relatively less than other similar delis.

Tasty sandwiches and amazing bread I would say the Dutch crunch baguette was one of the best sandwich breads I’ve ever had. It was perfect for my tuna, avocado sandwich. The only problem was I didn’t really taste the avocado. I would’ve loved to have more lettuce, tomato, and onion in there, but I didn’t ask so that’s not their fault. The sandwich was very tasty especially because the bread was so good. This is on a strip of lots of restaurants on 53rd St. near you Chicago so you’re gonna get a lot of fun eateries here. Parking on the street and you have to pay.

God I love this place. Never can go wrong with a sandwich from here. Patio in back is cute, a little overgrown but part of the charm!

Neighborhood cafe beloved by locals. The guys behind the counter are the best. Delicious pastries. Decent espresso drinks for a pretty good price. Be sure to try the paninis!

We drove a vegan kufta to a friend in Michigan once - it’s that good.
They gifted me this lavender blueberry iced chai - not sure why, but it’s amazing. Wish I could give you 6 stars for being open every day.

I came in with my 2 young children. Doing anything with kids is a challenge and the owner did everything possible to make our life easier, our time there enjoyable, and the food was amazing! Both kids enjoyed their meals and I was SO impressed with the homemade quality of food. The owner even treated us to dessert at the end. Thank you so much for such a great impromptu dinner! We’ll be back!

Yum! We love to get the chicken sumac on dutch crunch and a fresh mint lemonade. The backyard patio is lovely in warm weather.

This place is my favorite halal breakfast spot in Chicago. Amazing bagels where you can add meat and it’s halal 😋
Great location and lovely park nearby to eat the bagels. A bit of a line but definitely worth it.
Good food reasonable price

Absolutely fantastic sumac chicken. One of my favorite sandwiches I’ve had and I’m a picky eater. Go here and do not think twice. Wish I lived closer to spoil myself.
