In Chicago there are a handful of truly special places. Places that are unlike any other. Places you absolutely can’t miss out on. Cary’s is one of those places. You know it the second you see their neon sign or walk in the door or meet Mel the Cat. From the friendly staff behind the bar to the interesting people seated next to you, time spent at Cary’s is always memorable.
Great, laid back bar amidst the Indo-Pak retail stretch of Devon Ave. Great tap beer selection, nice wines on tap & a full back bar. Attentive service, a pool table, back patio - what more could you want?
Stopped by Cary’s Lounge last Friday night and dropped about $25 on a couple pints and grilled wings. Beer selection was solid—16 taps, so plenty to choose from—and the wings had the right char. I snagged a game of pool, too. Staff and folks at the bar were super welcoming, even let me hang on the back patio with the cat, Mel. Cozy, laid-back neighborhood gem since ’72—definitely coming back.
