Update: I'm very disappointed. Unfortunately two of the six things I ordered were actually incorrect. So you had me wait 20 minutes outside for an order to only get partial of a correct order. It will definitely be a while before I come back.
There is no store front. You must order online only. I rang the door bell and was told to place an order online and then wait 20mins for my order. Their food is amazing!!! But I have only ever ordered from them online. Please update Google to state this! Your website does say this but no one will check there first. Food is 5 stars but definitely confusing for the customer. As I was waiting for my pickup order, a couple was also confused with your door signage. They have been wanting to order and try your food and didn't know how to order. Maybe putting a sign on the door explaining that you would love to service them but they need to place their order online. Just posting a QR code and expecting people to understand isn't helpful to your guest. Also Google says open till 4pm and the door says open till 3pm? Maybe update that as well.

We recently placed our second empanada order! We ordered a large variety of flavors and every single one was extremely flavorful and delicious! First experience was not as great as our second. First time we did not cook them properly and the texture was wrong! Flavor was incredible but they were too chewy. Make sure to follow all instructions for cooking and they make a great meal!

Honesty the empanadas are THAT GOOD. There was some confusion when I made my pick up order (honestly I think the confusion was on my end not there’s) and they didn’t have it when I got there. I called the next day and they were willing to delivery it. I wasn’t even mad because I know how good their food and desserts are and it was honestly worth the wait. If something similar happens to you, please be patient and understanding with them!!! They’re clearly very busy (rightfully so) and they will make it right! Keep it up! Will always be coming back!

THIS. IS. SO. GOOD. Holy cow, wow. Ordered some empanadas and pizzas for myself (severe gluten allergy) and friends, and my friends couldn't even tell these were gluten free. Absolutely delicious and outstanding. We ordered for pick-up and got to meet Marcos as well, who was so kind and helpful. I would 1,000% recommend all the food here!!

Cassava Empanadas is definitely one of the top 5 food spots in Chicagoland for me. The food is simply fantastic, and we love ordering it for delivery via Uber. It's a great option for us, especially because a family member has celiac disease - we trust the restaurant to provide safe and delicious food every time. The empanadas are a must-try, and everything on the menu is delicious. The cassava crusts are soft and flavorful without being greasy, and the unique flavor combinations are always a treat. I was so so excited to find a gluten free empanada! The pastry was perfect, but the filling could be better. There was a flavor within each one that I just didn’t like. For example, mushrooms overpowered the spinach dish (spinach and cheese might be a better combo) and there was a chicken empanada that was like 50% sweet potato. The steak was probably the best of the 3 because I could actually taste the protein. I will probably be back tbh because there aren’t a ton of gluten free restaurants near me, but it’s not my top 10.

As a Miami transplant living in Chicago who also has celiac, I needed an empanada hookup. Cassava did NOT disappoint! I tried one of every flavor and each was more delicious than the last. The dough is soft and pillowy and the fillings are so flavorful and tasty. My favorites were the ground beef, chicken, pork and vegetable. Make sure you get chimichurri on the side, it is the perfect addition to an already incredible meal. You would have no idea they were gluten free unless you knew ahead of time. In fact, I did my panicked “these taste too good to be truly GF” google search as I was eating haha. They offer pickup and delivery and they keep/heat up really well so you can stock up when you order! Can’t wait to order more.

We have ordered a selection of their gluten free pizzas, and empanadas. all them are delicious. recommend you bake them using a preheated hot pizza stone/steel to get the best crispiness and flavor of the crust. We will order from them again.
