Had a great dinner! Very friendly server and we loved the menu. The Beijing stewed eggplant and the sweet and sour pork ribs were standouts. Mongolian beef and Chinese greens were also excellent.

As some of the other reviews mentioned I did not have a good experience with the staff here. Food was over priced in my opinion.

Very rude lady at the front. Was ignored in line. I would go somewhere where the employees know how to treat their customers.

Great spot for the American-Chinese basics. The quality is a little better than a greasy spoon. We will be getting food from here often.

We have eaten at Chengdu Impression Sichuan Cuisine many times over the past several years and have always found it delicious. However, on our most recent visit, we were very disappointed. We ordered the Chengdu Style Dry Chili Chicken, Sichuan Wonton Soup (Spicy), and Crispy Eggplant. All of the dishes tasted like they had been prepared the day before, and unfortunately, everyone who ate them became horribly ill soon afterward.
The wontons barely had any filling, the wrappers were so fragile that they fell apart when picked up, and the texture was slimy. After so many previously wonderful meals, this recent experience has left us unsure whether we will return.

To be clear from the start, the food here is very good. A good menu and consistent across the several visits I’ve had since they opened. Unfortunately, the service is the sticky part… today, for example, there was no one else dining in the space but me. It was 1:30p on a Saturday. The only server I could see showed me to a table right away, but then went over to the bar on his phone and didn’t come back for several minutes. Then, mid way through my order, he ran away to get a tablet to record the order so I started again. I ordered two appetizers and a main and hot tea. The main arrived first and I asked if the dumplings were coming… he said “later … they take longer. Mind you I’ve eaten here before and the dumplings always came first. Eventually he dropped the dumplings off and walked away. I had to motion him back over to ask for sauce so he brought me soy and chilli sauces but nothing to put them in… again there was no one else in the place. When I let him know I was finished, he raced over to get the tablet for me to pay (ever notice how when a server can’t give you the time of day when you’re eating they are super fast to get your money??). He types some things into the tablet and then asked me how I’d like to pay…….. I said, “can I see how much the bill is?” He flips the screen in my direction to reveal just a total amount not an itemized bill. I was like, whatever… That example is indicative of the service I’ve had each time. I don’t know why.

I came to pick up my order and asked one of the workers if it was ready. She did not respond properly, gave back answers, and was very disrespectful. She also wasn’t answering the phone calls when I tried to check earlier. This was a really disappointing and unprofessional experience at this restaurant might be she is tried of her job or what I don’t know

Bad experience, never prepared the order. Never arrived 2 hours later. Really was looking forward to it.

The chili wontons were absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the rest of the dishes didn’t quite hit the spot. The sake we ordered was harsh, more like drinking straight ethanol than something smooth or balanced.

On the positive side, service was attentive and courteous throughout the evening, which we really appreciated. However, something seemed off with the HVAC system, as there was a noticeable smoky haze in the air when walking through the space, which was distracting from the overall experience.

If you are looking to wait all night for cold Chinese food to arrive at your door AND get really bad customer service…. This is the place for you!! Seriously though do yourself a favor. Go to reviews and filter “ lowest reviews first”. Then decide how badly you want to lay down on the cold bathroom floor curled around your toilet tomorrow.
Lao Sze Chuan is a bit more expensive, but better tasting and consistent.

I have never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant. Waited over an hour and a half for any sign of our entrees. The server came by after the first 30 minutes to ask what we ordered again, then another hour went by and no food. She also completely ignored us the entire time we waited and displayed zero empathy for their mistakes. We saw 4 other tables come in after us, eat and leave while we were still waiting. We finally just asked for the check so we can pay for our drinks and appetizers so we can leave. I can't even leave a review for how the food tasted because we never got our entrees.

Went with my girlfriend on a Thursday around 6:30, got two appetizers and placed our entree orders shortly after. We waited for 30-40 minutes until the server asked us what we ordered after we originally told her. We waited about an hour after her asking again without getting any food brought out to us. We watched multiple groups have the same experience around us while a few people who ordered got their food. The staff was extremely dismissive of us and did not apologize or refill our water once all night. Overall, pretty terrible experience and maybe the worst I’ve ever had.

[Sep 2025] they do have their own drinks menu but BYOB allowed! Corkage fee: $5 per 4 people; higher for larger groups. Food is great, of course.

After moving to Edgewater we couldn’t find a good Asian restaurant that didn’t give us food poisoning or taste like stale food. Chengdu completely blew us away, the food was hot, fresh and sooooo delicious. This will be a staple for us here it was a 10/10 experience.
