Axum has become my absolute favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Chicago! The food is delicious (which is an understatement) and the chef/owner is delightfully kind. Their food is always fresh and their recipes are authentic. Axum features vegan and vegetarian options, as well as a full menu of yummy meat dishes. Axum also has a full bar and a selection of wine, so it’s the perfect choice for every occasion!
The best Ethiopian food I've had. Ras Dashen used to be here but closed down. I thought Ras Dashen was great but this is as good or even better than Ras Dashen. The portions are huge and everything tasted awesome and fresh. The owner is very friendly as well. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
I have always loved Ethiopian food, and I was recommended to come to Axum when I was visiting Chicago. It definitely did not disappoint! The food was so good, and the service was even better. My server, Debora was really welcoming and made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. She checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed without being too much. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in Chicago.
