Update:
Everything was done wrong. The white rice was clumpy. Mouth watering chicken barely had any chili oil and was dry. Mapo tofu was very salty. Eggplant was overly oily. These are basic things you expect as a Chinese person to be done right.
They should also fix their charge system: the minimum is 18% which is laughable since the service barely came by our table and never asked how our food was.
Incredibly disappointed.

HOSPITALIZED FOR 10 DAYS WITH FOOD POISONING FROM HERE!!!
I ordered their pork dumplings and fried rice. It was the only thing I ate that day so I Know it was from here.
I called the restaurant after my hospital stay and told them about my situation. Was told that it happened too long ago for them to refund me. They did not care at all. Great!
Reviewing 3 years after my experience because I keep seeing this place recommended. I feel like people should be aware. I thought I had already reviewed, but I guess I didn’t.
Literally the worst experience ever.

Order wasn’t ready for 45 minutes past pickup time. Two out of three items I ordered were cold by the time I sat down to eat. Wait staff were not friendly and not accommodating for delay for the order.

Chengdu Impression in Wicker Park is a standout for authentic Sichuan cuisine! From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming. The dishes are packed with bold flavors and the perfect balance of spice and depth. Highlights include their mouthwatering spicy hot pot, dim sum, tender mapo tofu, and the addictive dan dan noodles along with dry chengdu chili chicken. The spice level can be adjusted to your preference, but even the mild options deliver incredible flavor. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food arrives fresh and fast. If you’re craving true Sichuan flavors in Chicago, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommended!

Great food, no frills service but they get it done. Ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, spicy pepper chicken, and string beans. Would definitely recommend.

Worst place to order for delivery they take so long.
Comfort Chinese food that’s authentic and large in portion size. Spice level was good and tasty! Casual interior atmosphere for a chill dinner.

Very solid Chinese with an extensive menu. Eating in was fairly quiet, dishes were well plated and came fairly quickly.
Spices were great, a good blend without going overboard though it may be a bit much if you have low spice tolerances.
This location is also BYOB as well.

Chengdu is our goto for Szechuan in Wicker Park. Whether we eat there or do takeout they always deliver in taste. Outside of their spicy treats, they also make great soup dumplings.

Ordered two entrees online for pickup. Says each entree comes with a side of white rice, but was disappointed to see that our order did not have any rice when we got home. Good food but frustrating to be missing half of our order.

The food isn't as good as it used to be. The dry chili chicken, once our favorite, didn’t taste fresh and lacked flavor, with an odd fishy hint. The freshness and quality have really declined.
