There are many photos and autographs of athletes.
The taste is better when you eat it in Japan.

There are lots of photos and autographs of baseball players, giving it a special atmosphere, and the interaction with the store staff and customer service is perfect. I never thought it would smell like yakiniku in Chicago.

The service and staff here are absolutely great. However the food is not very good and is very small portions and the prices are kind of crazy. We left still fairly hungry after spending more than we would have at some other korean bbq joints. There's alot of options and I'd say this one is not even top 10.

We had a fabulous dinner last night at Chicago Kalbi with Cummins Peru, Komat'su, and the VPs from Antimina copper mine.
Such a great place, where you cook the wagyu & kobe beef at your table. The food was delicious ?
Isao Tozuka, the chef and his wife Chiyo-san, are fabulous hosts, very friendly, and really happy to help and show you how things are do e.
I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a unique place. Make sure you book though ad it can be busy.

Real charcoal, and fantastic food. One of the best KBBQ around. The place is also littered with baseball memorabilia. It can get a bit smokey in the place during the busy hours.

So delicious I didn't even think about taking pictures. We ordered the Kobe Short rib and Kalbi beef. Fantastic quality meat - the best we've found in Chicago. This is also the only charcoal fire kbbq/jbbq we've found. The service was great, and we loved looking at all the photos and autographs on the walls. We will definitely be back.

I am completely baffled by the hype for this place. It is easily the worst kalbi I have EVER had at restaurant by far, like not even close. It was just terrible, flavorless kalbi. There are so many other things to order if you don't want marinated beef -- kalbi is supposed to marinated and flavorful, period. The naengmyeon was awful too. The portion was small, which I can forgive, the noodles were a little hard, which I can forgive, but the soup was like pure water. I guess this place is for non-Koreans who don't even know what things are supposed to be like..? The cuts of the meat were good, the service was good, the owners are very kind but... our whole party of six left full but very unsatisfied. I just can't see myself ever going back here.

Truly the best Japanese BBQ anywhere. The meat is ultra fresh and high quality; they bring you a grill over real hot coals, not gas powered like the chains. Also very generous with a plethora of sides. Most importantly the owners Isiao and Chiyo really make you feel at home. They always come to your table to check in and show you the right way to cook a certain cut of meat if needed. They are the nicest people and it's a small family business that treats people right. The Kobe and Wagyu beef are out of this world good, also highly recommend the tartar appetizer. Chicago Kalbi is a one of a kind establishment and I couldn't recommend more!
