My wife and I had a very disappointing experience at Cira in the lobby of the Hoxton. We settled on dinner here, as a snow storm had us pretty snowed in to the hotel. We looked at the online menu and saw options we’d like.
From the moment we arrived at the host station to the moment we left it was painfully awkward. We thought we were being pranked.
Our server was barely around. We couldn’t address things or ask for refills if we liked to.
We had multiple people “service” our table by taking away dishes. They took away our drinks without asking if we wanted more. We were stranded without drinks for 30 minutes until our waiter came back finally.
The three plates we got were all terrible. Hard to describe when you simply don’t like something.. but we didn’t. Multiple items had ingredients in them that weren’t listed on the menu. And the overall quality of them was low.
We voiced our displeasure at the end of the experience to our server. He didn’t offer any resolve or solution. He simply brought the full check and we moved on.
Later in the evening, we got a drink from the bar, separately. Upon closing the tab we discovered how outrageously priced this place is. $30 for a single martini. In an establishment with horribly awkward and inconvenient service.
On top of this, they charge a 4% surcharge on all checks to account for inflation. Unbelievable.
Overpriced, awkward, confusing, and disappointing.
We will not be back.

I didn't love the caesar or the Chicago sandwich. Have generally enjoyed the food more on previous visits, though. Ambience is fantastic.

Food was decent. I would not have guessed the pistachio pasta would have been so delicious. However, from the hostess to our server, we did not feel welcomed or that they were excited to be at work. It could have made the difference in 3 vs 4 stars for us!

We had brunch! The cinnamon morning bun was absolutely delicious. The shakshuka was good, though the flavor felt a bit one-note — I would've liked a touch more feta for balance. The Mortadella sandwich was good (I liked the pistachio pesto but my husband felt it was a bit overpowering). The ambiance could be a little more upbeat, but overall, I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5.

Comfortable and elegant, spacious, pretty, not too loud. Food was mostly delicious. I had one thing I thought sounded interesting and in fact was more inyteeresting than it was good, but the pistachio ravioli is spectacular and very unique. I'd go back. for sure.
Great food and great atmosphere. Staff was nice and all ordered items had been really tasty. We had an avocado toast and salmon as well as eggs and bacon and all been fresh, rich flavors and tasty. Coffee was great and we had a great breakfast

Honestly the food was very underwhelming. The flavor of everything we had was mid, the pasta was not cooked through very well. The drinks were the best part of the meal.

I really loved it. It was so peaceful and I enjoyed dessert. I will go back again especially just for the dessert. I think I'm gonna go back this month.
