Unfortunately, BCC closed just before Valentine's Day and so far, no news on where the key team members have moved on to. And no news on what may replace on this site, this is truly the tragic loss of a restaurant that was destined for great things.

Creative, high quality dishes. A bit pricey, though it lives up to the cost. The steak tartare was very flavorful. Its was quite dressed for a tartare, i.e. not meat-forward. The duck was fantastic, as was the saffron prawn gnocchi. Like the flavors or not, none of the dishes were boring, ingredients were great, and the execution was beyond question. The blood and sand was perhaps the best balanced smoky scotch cocktail I’ve had. Partner’s bohemian was also very good.

Deeply mediocre experience. Food was unimpressive, atmosphere not particularly charming, service was okay. Not worth the price tag.

Great food. Great service. Very small space. Small portions. High prices.

A lovely, modest evening with charming and professional service and deliciously prepared modern French plats!! Excellent cocktails. Tiny wine list is just about perfect, though a good Cru Beaujolais would be a good addition.

We both had the Restaurant Week prix fixe. I chose the sliced veg salad, and my husband had the mushroom soup. Both were good. The entre we selected was the flank steak. Very tender and cooked to our orders. The potatoes needed help; too crunchy. The desert we picked was the cheesecake. They are the smallest slices I've ever seen.

I've been twice and the Bordeaux Short Rib is beyond phenomenal. Get it.

Service was cold, waitress was dull . Seating was not comfortable as my partner was sitting right bind someone else on the table next to us. We went during restaurant week and it was Very Disappointing. Food didn't come out in order its supposed to. Foie gras was tiny like a size of the nickle , and on my Cheese Dumplings order there were only 3 tiny balls. Steak was unflavored and chewy . Crem Brule was burnt. For $59 a person the value is very poor. Overall very disappointed and dissatisfied experience. Prices are too high for the area and the service. Will not Come back and advise to choose other places for French dining. Try again Brasserie.

This review is for the Restaurant Week Menu for 2024. Before I get into the review, let me just say that if you are reading this and live in Chicago, head over to Brasserie C&C for their Restaurant Week 2024 menu. The price is very good for the selection of items offered on the menu. Although we did supplement it with an order of the duck liver mousse and extra bread, the menu easily stands on its own. Me, The Doctor and The Queen walked out belly full! I didn't realize the pedigree of this place until I went to the "About" section of their website later that evening and read "Born from the twelve year legacy of Cookies and Carnitas...", that place was goooood! I was so in love with the concept of cookies and carnitas prepared meats and tacos, that it became a favorite place of mine to get take out. So the name Brasserie C&C makes total sense now. The space itself is pretty inviting, with lots of windows, so there is plenty of natural light coming in once the days get longer. There is ample street parking and there is a paid lot across the street next to the Broadway Armory. We were seated right away and provided with menus. Service was excellent as everyone was hustling, including the owner (Bradley Newman). I didn't realize he was the owner until The Doctor said something after I had a chat about the fois gras croquettes, with Bradley mentioning the other duck items on the regular menu. He was very nice and pleasant to talk to. I heard him in discussion with a table behind us and he was very patience and helpful in explaining some of the dishes and I believe, giving them a taste of one of the wines before they ordered a bottle. Although they were hustling to get food out to tables, what I noticed was that there were multiple people from the kitchen keeping a watchful eye on our progress for each course. That was most appreciated as we were allowed to eat in peace, not feeling rushed, and having multiple courses sitting on top of each other. My selections for the night included the fois gras croquettes, the flanks steak and the Basque cheesecake. We also got the duck liver mousse, because I love that stuff. The bread was very good...not sure if they bake it on-site or have it brought in, but it was very good with the butter they served as well as the mousse. I love fois gras and the idea of having it with my favorite veggie potatoes, was heaven. This is a dish I would come back for. The flank steak was on point and perfectly cooked. I was surprised at the size of the serving considering this was off the restaurant week menu, so I would like to see how much meat you get if you order off the regular menu. The crispy fingerling potatoes were a very nice side dish and seasoned very well as far as I was concerned. The texture of the potatoes was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Not quite like a French Fry, but eating the two textures together was interesting. Dessert was okay, but this was not due to the anything the restaurant did. There were two selections for dessert, the cheesecake and the crème brûlée, of which I am not a fan of at all. It is not that the cheesecake wasn't good, I am just not a huge fan of this style. That said, it did present and tasted like similarly prepared ones I had in Spain many years ago. the spiced Bordeaux reduction and candied nuts were really good. If I got this dessert again, I would definitely ask for extra sauce and nuts. The Queen got the Shaved Salad and the Ricotta Dumplings. We traded main entrées to get a taste of each one. I really like the dumplings. This was a very light dish compared to the steak but delish none the less. The dumplings actually reminded me of cappelletti...little soft pillows of stuffed with a lovely creamy cheese. She really enjoyed the salad as well, saying it was very fresh and she loved the vinaigrette that was used. So if you are looking for a light meal pairing, the salad and dumplings would be the way to go. The Doctor had the salad and steak as well, but he got the crème brûlée and once again became

I stopped by for dinner and we started with 2 appetizers - ceviche - I thought it was really good. Pretty large portion. white fish was dominant duck & froie gras rolls - somewhat greasy, there was more foie gras than duck For entree I ordered the short rib with mashed potatoes and blistered cherry tomatoes. Nice tender short rib, great mash, and tasty gravy. Service was super friendly. The restaurant space is cozy with a nice looking bar. The reason for the -1 star is I think it's priced a little high.

Visited early on a snowy Friday evening before a show. Everything was excellent. Party of 6 and we all left happy. Appetizers, entrees and desserts were all delicious. Service was great. We'll be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Brasserie C & C. The owner made special cocktails as we briefly waited for our table, the service was solid and prompt, and our food was both interesting and delicious.

Excellent service and drinks. Diverse app selection including Duck, Duck, Goose Spring Roll composed of duck confit, foie gras and cabbage with plum sauce. Delicious. Love the gigantic Romaine Wedge and French Onion Soup. Wish there was more main course options and/or the selections would change. Smoky butternut squash pasta was tasty and unusual.
