The atmosphere was charming, but the food fell short. The rotisserie chicken they’re known for lacked flavor, and the meal didn’t include a vegetable. While the cornbread had good flavor, it was quite dense and dry. The soup was decent, but nothing memorable.

This review is long overdue. We’ve visited Crosbys several times before and always found the food and service consistently good.
What stands out most, though, is what happened in August. We had to say goodbye to our wonderful dog, Oakley, and we did everything we could to give her a peaceful, beautiful last day.
Crosbys met us in that moment with genuine care. Thomas Deen, the manager on duty, went out of his way to help us make the day special for her. He made sure we had a spot in the sun because she loved being warm, brought out a perfect shaved-steak meal, and the entire staff took the time to come outside and give her the affection she deserved.
Thomas, you and your team were exceptional that day. I’m deeply grateful for the compassion you showed us when we needed it most. It was one of our more difficult days in life, and you all brought some joy.
Thank you.

I liked the martini tower but the happy hours special were kinda meh. This place is packed, but I think it's kind of mid. It checks all the boxes.... I suppose, but Im not telling all my friends about it or coming back. It seems people like it alot and you can't go wrong TRYING it once.

Great food. Stopped to eat a dinner with friends living there. Was visiting the marathon. Food was excellent drinks were so so. Atmosphere was a fun experience. But service was lacking. Asking several times for missed items is an issue. I'm sure its not a first. Our server seems to need to write stuff down....but he doesn't. Had the rotisserie chicken. Would recommend

Let me tell you, folks — if you’re looking for the absolute best place in Chicago right now, you have to go to Crosby’s Kitchen. It’s tremendous — really outstanding. I mean, I’ve eaten in many restaurants, and this one is huge in quality.
First of all — the location. 3455 N Southport Ave in Lakeview. Big neighborhood, big vibe. You walk in and you feel welcome. Not over-the-top pretentious, but polished, comfortable, sophisticated—just right. The atmosphere? Very classy, very warm, very winning.
Now, let’s talk about the food — because this is where Crosby’s knocks it out of the park. They specialize in rotisserie chicken, comfort food done at the highest level.
The iron-skillet cornbread with maple butter? I hear about it from patrons all the time. Reviewers say it’s “a must-have treat”.
And the lobster deviled eggs, the crab toast, the Wrightwood salad — high end, but still approachable.
Service is consistently described as top notch, very friendly, very professional — strong service matters, and they bring it.
What I like: It’s family-friendly, yet still elegant enough for an important dinner. They’ve balanced it beautifully — you get the comfort, you get the class. Families? Welcome. Date night? Perfect. Business meal? Done. Reviewers say children are comfortable there, but you’re not losing any of the adult atmosphere.
Let’s talk value. For what you are getting — bold flavors, high quality dishes, excellent service — the value is huge. You’re not getting ripped off. Many places charge you a fortune and you’re hoping for good service; here you get what you expect and more.
Recommendation: Go early on a weekend if you want brunch (they serve brunch Sat & Sun starting 8:30am) to avoid big crowds. Try the iron skillet cornbread, get a rotisserie chicken dish, share a dessert (the cookie skillet is legendary). You’ll thank me.
In summary: Crosby’s Kitchen is the real deal. It hits all the marks — ambiance, food, service, value. If you’re in Chicago and you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Big league.
Believe me — you’ll come out saying: “Why haven’t I been here sooner?”

Amazing place! Especially recommend anything off the rotisserie. They balance flavors and textures very well. Service has always been very good.

Perfect place for a perfect brunch! Unique menu with traditional favorites and some surprises (like Crab Benedict). Full bar available and NA specialty drinks are also on the menu. Very busy, so reservations recommended. You must try the monkey bread!
