We stopped here on our way to dinner for a quick drink. It was pretty packed and there really is not a lot of seating in the bar area. They have another up stair section for eating. The drinks were over priced but that is expected in Chicago. We had one and quickly moved on.

I visited this pub once before and really enjoyed it, so I was excited to return. However, I was surprised to find the door locked well before the posted closing time; 9:30 pm to be precise. When I asked, I was told that last call had already been made and the kitchen was closed. While I understand that business can fluctuate, it’s frustrating when customers can’t rely on the advertised hours.
What made it even more confusing was that there were still a few patrons inside. When I inquired about their actual closing time on a Sunday night for future reference, I was given a vague response—apparently, it depends on the crowd. So, does that mean if it’s slow at 5 pm, I shouldn’t even bother coming? That doesn’t make sense. If staying open past 9:30 pm isn’t profitable, then just adjust the posted hours accordingly. But don’t waste customers’ time by having them show up, only to be turned away well before closing.
A little consistency would go a long way.
We stopped by during the Notre Dame football game, and despite the bar being busy, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were served. The drink prices were the best we encountered during our 4-day stay in Chicago. The food was also solid—classic pub fare, done well. Overall, a great spot to enjoy the game and grab a drink without breaking the bank.

Sunday fun day. Had a glizzy and a Two hearted, staff was weird about water pitchers for a big group. Messed up friends order but made it right quickly and comped a drink. Would recommend for a pub.

Very busy bar in Old Town, but great atmosphere
A very youth-oriented venue. Where the drinks are pretty good but the atmosphere is loud and bustling. A great spot for a hangout with your friends for quick drink and a quick bite.

Jhonn is the best server I’ve had in a while. Great service.
Do you hate yourself? If so, this is the place for you. Rude staff, drunken bros pissing all over the bathroom walls, no room to move because it’s so crowded, Declan’s has it all!

Just your typical Chicago dive bar. Buckets of beer and good bar food. Smaller place, so gets crowded quick.

Nice neighborhood Irish pub. Decent food selection. Service was incredibly friendly but are understaffed. Dock on atmosphere bc at end of day is a bar … outside seating is pleasant. Wish had a little bit bigger selection of on draft beers.

A must visit pub in the heart of old town the Rueben is phenomenal and the thousand island dressing is home made and top notch. The buffalo chicken wrap is delicious and a hearty helping of chicken. Drink specials are on point from a world class mixologist. 100 out of 10
