I LOVE Dirks, sadly the last two times I have gone I have had issues with Oysters and mussels being sold to me that had gone bad. I reached out a few times via email and the phone trying to get my money back but they haven't responded to me. I will still shop here but I advise others to avoid the oysters and mussels

I was at Dirks and was charged 15.00 each for soft shell crab.
Shame on them for ripping people off . Eataly has them for 8.99.
And they are larger and fresher and the fish at Eataly is better quality. Shame on Dirk you won't stay around long ripping people off.

Amazing team and an incredible service. If you’re looking for a spot to pick up your fish, this is the place. Thank you!!!

Not only is the selection fresh and ever changing, but Dirk himself is SPECTACULAR. Not only are they super knowledgeable without seafood that they have and seafood that they don’t have, but they are super quick to tell you a recipe or storage tips. Great first experience today. My clams were also great.

As a new Chicagoan, many places here in the city are hit or miss.
Based off my first experience, this is going to be my new Go To Spot!!! Delicious , Clean, fast service. I love it here. First time I came here and the staff was so welcoming and informative about the produce they carry.

Diego and Carlos walked me a bit thru the history of the expansion of the location and gave me a small sample of the salmon dill salad that I’ll now be picking up this summer for my sandwiches. They also gave me the heads up that the big boss likes to host events on Saturdays 12-2!!! I HAVE to comeback! Their sushi grade fish is my new obsession!

If you want great quality service, great quality lunch at reasonable prices, this is THE place.

Absolutely phenomenal gourmet fish market in Chicago. The strip mall atmosphere does not attract because as I pulled in on Sunday near the Men's Wearhouse, there was Dirk in his baseball cap and T-shirt in the 32° weather, grilling salmon, asparagus, as well as these massive tequila spiced prawns

The tuna poke is legendary.

There version of the lobster roll, which I refuse to try as I grew up visiting Marthas Vineyard every summer, is reportedly one of the best in the Midwest. I would not doubt that.

The fresh fish is incredible. The varieties are so abundant.

To be honest, I don't love the crabcakes.

Dirks sells the best house cured grave locks I've had anywhere.

I love this place.

Fantastic specialty seafood store. Lots of sustainable seafood options and nice people. One of the only places in Chicago selling invasive Copi (Asian Carp). Prices are higher than retail stores, but for better-sourced seafood and more selection. Free samples Saturdays at noon!

I love this seafood market! They have super fresh seafood and the lobster roll was big, stuffed with lobster, and delicious! We also got their shrimp salad and a couple of live lobsters that were very good for dinner later that night!

Too many great things to say about this place . Everyone makes you feel welcomed ,
It’s more than a fish shop , they make you feel like your home with how friendly they all are . Dirk and his staff are the best , especially Carlos, he’s knowledgeable and everything he recommends hasn’t let me down . Always satisfied.
