Awful customer service over the phone. I cannot add anything without an extra charge of five dollars everything priced on the menu is plain. If you want to add anything it is five dollars each.

I Went Inside...thinking of lunch. But, Had to use the Restroom First. The OLD MEAN lady...sitting down in the Front Table. BARKED at Me..."Where Are You Going"?? Mind you.. I Am A Female Union Laborer With the International Laborers of North America. I Told The MEAN old woman..to the Restroom. She Said you SPEAK when you come inside. A. As if she were My Grandmother B. As if I WALKED in her house. I questioned.. Is This a Public Commercial Business? She SAID Never Mind That in a ROUGH GRUFF HEAVY Voice...you Open your Mouth To Speak when u come inside a place. You CANNOT use that Bathroom. I said oh Ok. I had A Mind...to SPEAK just As Harshly BACK to the MEAN old Witch. But, I just Did and About Face and Walked Toward the Entrance when She BARKED at ME again...while I Was Leaving and Said, "The Next time you come in here You Speak". I turned Back Around Slowly and Told her mean self.. "I heard You...and There WON'T be a "Next Time". I didn't want to purchase NOT one item from this Witch. Who knows...what she Would "Put In the food"..if SHE Barks At Human beings Simply Coming in to use the restroom that Said.."For paying customers Only". I went NEXT door the Asian cuisine purchased An shrimp fried rice and veggie eggroll w/Ease and Kindness. That's HOW...you Deal with the Public. NOT as if...a Stranger is your child. Everybody that "Owns a Business a lease and establishment from a leasing Agent" of a small mall. Is NOT warranted to be Patronized By Honest Hard Working People. And from the Looks of some of The "Reviews" your Food Isn't So great at this UNdynamic african Restaurant. Youre IN AMERICA!!! NOT "africa" mean old miserable grouch woman. ??‍♀??‍♀**Thank You JAH...for Showing ME NEVER to eat From here** if U Want real Good Authentic AFRICAN FOOD go to the Restaurant on Wilson next Door to Uptown Restaurant. Ask for EMMA...she's The Best!!! ** ?

Best egusi soup hands down!!!

We have just left the restaurant and while the food was delicious the restaurant was out of much of the items on the menu. Apparently they order for the week on Mondays and by the weekend the selections are sparse. But what we were able to order was amazing, delicious and spicy. If you're a stickler and have no flexibility in your personality I would avoid this place. The restaurant genuinely reminded me of restaurants we would frequent when my family lived in Nigeria. The servers and the cook were friendly and very accommodating. And the place was empty, so we didn't get that memo!

Came here with a large group - half of whom never tried Nigerian food before. The owner was very accommodating and made us feel like family. The food here is the best Nigerian food in Chicago! You wait for the food but that's because it's cooked fresh and then value quality. We all had the egusi soup with pounded yam, jollof rice and also isi ewu. The egusi soup is so flavorful and top recommended traditional dish to try as a first timer. The jollof rice has the right amount of kick to it. If you want that African at home environment with a home cooked meal feeling- this is the place!

The pepper soup was really flavorful and good but the goat meat was chewy to an inedible point. The soup container was barely filled (see picture, I'd eaten some and the meat is in a corner so it was a little more filled than this but not much). I paid thirty dollars for this. A Togo box just full of white rice and a small order of plantains. Not going again which sucks because the soup (sans meat) is delicious.

Limited menu items except rice and meat. Prices are not even ipdated. Waited twenty minutes because server messed up our credit ards and after three times she claims it was fixed. Next day found my card was double charged and I can't get in touch with anyone who will correct this error. Buyer beware.

Awful awful awful. DO NOT GO HERE

Food is disgusting, service is crap, owners are total s*** humans. They will boot your car if you leave it there for less than 5 minutes. No compassion or sense of community here. Don't ever go here!!
