I stopped here on a whim. I haven't found a good BBQ place on the far north side of Chicago for awhile. I'm glad I did. As soon as I walked in the smokey smell that hit me was perfect. The space inside isn't huge, but it is comfortable and cozy and has a good atmosphere with plenty of light and some nice outdoor seating as well. It's near a busy intersection, so it's not particularly quiet outside, but still would be a nice option in winter.
The food was excellent. I'm really picky about my brisket, and this was to there for sure. Top five I've had in Chicago. Not too fatty and very flavorful. Collared greens were excellent as well... Full of flavor, but not overpowering. They had four sauces available. All were thick and tasty. The Carolina sauce was sweet and tangy, but didn't have much of the mustard flavor I like. This was more present in the Georgia sauce, which was surprising. Maybe the bottles were switched? Hot wasn't super hot, but it did have a good smokey robust flavor.
All in all, it was a very good BBQ experience. Definitely recommended. I am coming back for sure.

Great food every time, great service as well, Victoria made my day with the great atmosphere
Do not place orders through chow now, the online service provided by them online. I showed up for my paid for order, showed the receipt- and was told there was “no order placed and nothing they could do.” That, I, myself, needed to contact chow now. Even though this “happens with them all the time.” So, I did. CN said I needed to contact the restaurant. I did that, again. Told that the owner “was made aware and that they’d look into it.” And she didn’t “need my order#” It’s 3 business days later and the charge posted on my statement. Never reversed.
Overpriced food, bad customer service.

Absolutely loved this spot my dad put me on to! I had the spicy Polish sausage and it was phenomenal; perfect snap with just the right amount of heat and packed with flavor. The BBQ beans were also a standout: rich, well seasoned, and the chunks of brisket mixed in were a really nice touch. I also tried the ribs, which had a great smoky flavor and were cooked just right. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!!

Ordered pick up and it was all good 👍🏾 but the collards were a little too bitter something was a little off. Wings were amazing! The rib tips, pulled pork and brisket = Chefs kiss! Looking forward to eating in next time

A total dry bland mess!... I'm well traveled and a Chicagoan so I know good food and BBQ. My husband traveled from near Naperville to Lake Shore and looked up BBQ near him...This is thee worst dry bland brisket, and chicken combo ever! the Brisket crumbled and was mealy on the tongue. The ribs TIPS were in bits and pieces like they had been scraped together to make a serving there were maybe 3 or 4 formed tips...no sauce on ANYTHING!!! Who does that? when asked they said the customer had to ADD their own sauce. To be honest its not even worth going back down stairs to take pictures...this establishment knows what it sold my husband at 4pm on 12.13.2025
I try not to write negative reviews especially if the place identifies as a family owned small business. But this was stale dry and not fresh. Even the pickle was an afterthought, pruned and inedible. We really wanted good BBQ after a sad day at the hospital. In this economy these businesses must do better or shutter because you only get one chance to make a 1st impression. I know its hard for businesses and believe it or not at $90 dollars for rib tips NOT a slab, dry brisket (about 6 pieces), wing/breast, fries. I'm actually holding back what i could say and show in my review. I do do think there is a fine line in reviewing a company that boarders on being nasty and rude. That is not my goal. I am sparing them from showing pics of the tips and brisket bc our containers looked like they would look AFTER consumption. It was unpalatable, grayish and dry. Highly disappointed to say the least. So I had yogurt grapefruit and a waterloo for dinner 🍽 in this subzero weather instead of succulent brisket and rib tips. :0(

The food is good 😏 it’s not the best, super small portions I think they try to make up the portions by filling you with fries 🥔 I wouldn’t come back because of the terrible service, the cashier Judging by her expression, it looked like I was asking for free food or that she was paying for it. because of the way we were treated, I think she doesn’t like her job because all the time she had an expression of displeasure! I didn’t really enjoy the experience
