Another great irish bar in the river west area that is everything you could expect and want out of the establishment

“When you lie, you lie with a beautiful person; when you cheat, you cheat death; when you think you need a drink, stop by Emmit’s!” You only have a week or so as this fine establishment is passing into oblivion like much of this section of North Milwaukee. But everyone there from the owners on down to the bartenders are soldiering on as only good Chicagoans can in the face of disaster. Who knows? Maybe our world famous city flag should now get its fifth star?!?!

Great food (and wings). Amazing beer selection. A Chicago classic!

One of my favorite local Irish pubs. Good food, good beer on draft, and cozy but also very fun. Easy to bring lots of friends for a night out. Nice staff/bartenders and love walking in with the green hue of the lighting. Also love that it's a corner building.

Chris was an excellent bartender!! The appetizers were surprisingly good. Better food and drinks then you would typically get from a bar. Highly recommend the place!

One of the best Irish pubs in the country & a staple in Chicago! Everyone is so welcoming and will make you feel like you’re part of a family, great to go with friends but also find it perfect for dining solo. The Buffalo chicken wrap is my fav & always make sure to get a pint!

My niece took her mom and myself to the West loop area for dinner. The area has changed quite a bit. First time in Emmit's pub. It was crowded for a Friday night. Very nice. We had a couple of drinks. Met a couple of brothers from the St Louis area there. Very nice young men. It was a nice place.

I really love this place, but I did have one poorer experience. A week or so before the St. Patrick's Day festivities, I called the pub and requested that they play the rugby games since it was St. Patrick's Day and that's a very popular sport in Ireland. They told me that it wasn't a problem if I just requested it at the bar when I was there. I got there, and they put it on for a bit, but switched it to basketball. I asked every bartender I could find and ask for them to change it back, and they wouldn't. I know it might not be a huge deal, but I just find it a bit disrespectful to deny the request when I called well in advance and made the request and was told it wasn't a problem.

I had a great time, orange juice and celery was fantastic. Staff is good vibes and pretty people all around. Xander who works here is the best here.

Favorite neighborhood establishment. Friendly bartenders and staff, Chris is the best, and Mellissa is awesome. Thank you for staying open, serving great food and drinks during all the city restrictions, and being a fabulous local establishment.

Bar was packed on a Saturday night but service was fast. Food came quick and very hot. Small menu but everything is great.

Emmit's has been a go to place for decades. Yeah, I've been drinking for decades now. A great Irish pub with awesome staff, traditional atmosphere, and good spirited customers. And you might recognize a booth or two from one of the many movies that have been filmed there. The menu is a solid offering of pub food. Though I do miss the sheppard's pie from pre-pandemic days. It's in a convenient location off the blue line and Halstead. And there's plenty of other food and drinking options nearby if you need some pre or post Emmit's revelry.Make it a spot to plan your night around or even stay the whole night. And if you see me, we can buy each other some Guinness.Sláinte!

Great bar with pretty meh food. The great thing is the food comes out quick! A little too quick.. it’s fun for game days and there’s always a ton of seating. It’s either dead or packed. I also saw a bunch of people playing chess last time. Maybe there’s a chess night? Mainly just a sports bar.
