Excellent variety of high quality Chinese food well appreciated by many people of Chinese heritage that I know. I recommend the Bird's Nest and also the BBQ Chow Fun. Others seemed to really appreciate the lobster, fish, and steak dishes. Those shrimp chips are also very popular with those of Chinese heritage. When I peaked in the empty teapot I could actually see the large loose green tea leaves.

I have eaten from here twice. The first time I was on the search for good take out in Chicago because a lot of places are not good anymore. Our take out was absolutely delicious, every bit was super tasty and nobody got the bubble guts after so a win is a win! At the time, I said the decor is awful in here, but who cares because you don’t eat the decor… but I guess it does matter because upon a china town visit with friends the wait at the more popular Triple Crown was too long so I suggested Evergreen. Upon walking in, they were like “no way let’s leave” because it was completely empty and the decor is seriously from the early 90s. But I assured them… the food was good! And it was good, minus the dumplings and some bland noodles. The waiter was a bit stern, very old school, and she was all about her tip. We tip so I don’t like being asked, told or suggested what the tip should be ever… and considering the fact that no one was in the restaurant; I’ll gotta have better decorum than that. Please find a young nephew or niece who can bring the atmosphere and customer service into 2025. I will return… for takeout only! For As long as they remain in business… best of luck to them.

Bing is a very hardworking owner and server at Evergreen. She is very helpful with recommending the appropriate dishes especially for large parties. We always go there for family celebrations. The have a large comfortable dining room. Portions are generous compared to other restaurants.

This feels like a classic Chinese buffet that I used to go to banquet with my family as a kid.
I got the shrimp tofu very simple delicious exactly what I wanted.
Service was quick and the takeout containers were not Styrofoam.
An itemized receipt was too much for them, though.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! I ordered the water spinach with garlic and the sautéed pea pods, and made several special requests—less oil, less salt, no MSG, and no spice. The host was incredibly thoughtful, personally going to the kitchen to ensure everything was prepared exactly as I requested.
When I asked if rice was extra, she kindly said it was complimentary—and even brought me a large portion instead of the usual small one. I truly appreciated the warm, accommodating service and felt genuinely welcomed. The food was delicious, and the hospitality made the meal even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Tasty food and good service. Restaurant's decor is nice; not pristine but comfortable and has a good atmosphere. The chicken with black mushrooms and sausage has a good flavor.

The food was tasty but salty. Both dishes we got were tasty but there was not enough meat or shrimp bc the prices range from $18-$19 so you expect a certain amount of food. The decor could use some modernization from the 80-90s feel. Street parking only and either you pay on the app or find free street parking which is nearby but you need to be lucky. The wait staff were nice and accommodating.
