first time trying deep dish pizza ever and this was a great experience. one large deep dish fed four people. the drinks were also good. however our pizza did take 45 minutes to make (server let us know) but it is reasonable. we had a vegetable deep dish pizza

A landmark I last visited in 1988; much hasn't changed! Photographs on the walls a retrospective to bygone eras. Local draft beers a welcome menu item, as was the gluten free pizza (10" only) and options for vegetarians . Our party of 6 arrived at different times and the wait staff easily accommodated the stragglers. We didn't eat fancy- had the large thin crust "Chicago" that held up to great sausage, Italian beef, onion & giardiniera. We all really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and historic vibe!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pizza crust could be loaded with any desired ingredients, and was a big hit with our guest that has restrictions.

The pizza with thin crust was good. Service was terrible! the waiter never checked on me, and I kept looking for him to add a request, which never happened. All of this, while there were very few other customers there.

Had a sign saying seat yourself and they ask our party of 6 to move for a party of 9. Offered us one slice of cake for us to move to a new table after we got our drinks. Will not go back due to service being poor and rude

Great Chicago style pizza, definitely worthy of the hype. Fun pub atmosphere, plenty of space, and attentive staff. Will be coming again!
We were visiting Chicago for the day and Googled nearby restaurants. Eschequer came up, and we're glad it did! Great food, good service, and clean. We've added it to the list as a place to go back to when we're in downtown Chicago again!

Loved this place, I would absolutely go back again in a heartbeat! The only complaint I can make is they don't let you split checks. I would assume that's for tables 4 or more people. The food was top notch and was even good reheated the next day.
