The pizza with thin crust was good. Service was terrible! the waiter never checked on me, and I kept looking for him to add a request, which never happened. All of this, while there were very few other customers there.
We were visiting Chicago for the day and Googled nearby restaurants. Eschequer came up, and we're glad it did! Great food, good service, and clean. We've added it to the list as a place to go back to when we're in downtown Chicago again!

A landmark I last visited in 1988; much hasn't changed! Photographs on the walls a retrospective to bygone eras. Local draft beers a welcome menu item, as was the gluten free pizza (10" only) and options for vegetarians . Our party of 6 arrived at different times and the wait staff easily accommodated the stragglers. We didn't eat fancy- had the large thin crust "Chicago" that held up to great sausage, Italian beef, onion & giardiniera. We all really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere...read full review
