As far as quality of food, this would unfortunately be one tier below Olive Garden. It was okay- only okay, not great. They are charging $20 a plate when the quality says it should be $7.99

ive never done a review, but our experience here was ruined towards the end of our stay. this goes to anyone looking for complete satisfaction with their experience. came with a group of 5 and we were visiting from out of state. everything is decently portioned, nothing disappointing or top notch. but, for what the food was worth in $$, they continuously tried to clear our plates that visibly had food left. i understand wanting to minimize after-stay clean up, but we had only been there for <30 minutes and i had to ask multiple times for them not to take our plates with a good amount of food left on it. we expected the bill to be a little high because it’s chicago, and agreed on splitting the bill. as a waitress, you should assume that bills will be split some way for a bigger party usually unless there is a special occasion. when we asked to have the bill split, the waitress looked at us in disbelief and requoted our question mockingly like it wasn’t common for 5 college age students to do so; maybe it’s different in chicago and we aren’t accustomed to that. she stopped coming to our table after asking and kept giving us a scowling look. based on reviews we were very enthusiastic about this restaurant as we were not familiar with chicago, but it left a bitter taste in our mouths. i really lost a lot of respect for the waitress, she was nice in the beginning; but considering they already charge gratuity for a certain # of people, i’m assuming she didn’t feel a need to “earn” her tip or keep us satisfied.

My first time dining in here it was really nice really intimate. I had the soup of the day which was cream carrot. It was delicious. I also had the chicken gardinera. It was good, and I also ordered the Bellini as a drink. Everything was good accommodating everything came out fast And very fresh my server was nice parking was good ? I've always wanted to dine in but never seem to have the time I have visited before and tried a glass of chianti reserve which I bought a bottle of but this time upon visited I was having a business lunch my party and I did not have to wait long at all for our food which by the way was delicious and flavorful the fragrance of aromas and the ambience makes you feel like your in a Ristorante in a littlle village in italy I took the liberty of ordering a bottle of wine for my table, once we were done we decided to sit by the bar for wine and conversation Good laughs were held that day and by the way our bartender Monica was such a pleasure to be around she was so funny and such a truly professional she delivered some of the best world class customer service I will be back and tell others to visit I give this business 10 stars instead of 5

This was a perfect dinner out for my husband's and mother-law's birthdays. They thought the grilled calamari was great - not dry, just delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the surprise dessert as well. Pleasant service throughout. My 5th time here! Great neighborhood place.

Deanna was excellent! We all had specials yesterday. Salmon with bowtie pasta, chicken with blue cheese sauce and risotto with shrimp and calamari. Wonderful atmosphere and ambiance after Lunar New Year parade!

Excellent neighborhood Italian ristorante. Like Grandma made, IF she were Italian which mine was not. Alas. Chicken Vesuvio delicious and a generous portion. Sautéed mushroom side should be a must if you like mushrooms. The others had salmon specials and loved the dishes. I didn't even get to try a bite! Chocolate lava cake large enough to share, thankfully. Nice selection of wines, especially Italian, as you would expect. Been going here for years and it's still wonderful.

Went there for dinner. The waitress started us with warm toasty bread and olive oil & parmesan cheese. It was so good we ordered more bread when our food came. I had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, the flavor was good but not as spicy as stated in the menu. My date ordered the Fettuccini alla Franco without mushrooms, it was lacking a little flavor on the sauce but I think it's depends on everyone's taste. For dessert we ordered the chocolate fudge cake and was kind of disappointed due to the dryness and overpowering sugar. Maybe next time we'll order the Tiramisu. The service is great as the waitress was very attentive.
