Great ambiance. Delicious food. Service was on point. Loved the live music. Will be adding this to our date night rotation.
It had been at least 1.5 years since I was last at The Gale Street Inn but the service and the ribs reminded me last night that I need to come back more often...
This place has been around forever I haven't been here in years and was rather nervous it might have changed as I noticed in many restaurants lately. But it was spot on!! Delicious
Absolutely delicious. Coming here since 1980's and same fall off the bone ribs! Plenty of other options they sounded amazing.
Best Food, best people/service, always a delight! But where's Waldo....I mean George?
Love the ribs and friend shrimp. Au gratin potatoes, salad with garlic dressing. Waitress was fabulous but never gave her name. Platinum blonde. It's like a speakeasy no outside windows or TV's .
Great atmosphere and the food was excellent esp the ribs. Thank you for the hospitality!

Walked in on a Wednesday night simply to introduce myself because of the job listing online. In this type of business, showing face is always better than your digital footprint getting buried below others. The gentleman I spoke to was extremely rude and condescending. Saying how it's not a good time, Julie. I responded that with this location specifically, I wasn't sure when a good time would be, possibly in the morning? He said not within business hours... Okay so I should come knocking on the window before you open???
I quickly lost interest and walked out. That type of attitude is not representative of Chicago or Fine dining industry. A much better approach would have been just flat out saying I am not what youre looking for at the moment or fill out an application online because you are occupied.

Gale St. is a family favorite for a reason! The ribs are melt-in-your-mouth tender and my family orders multiple to share (Party of 10).
We've been coming here for years, and the quality never disappoints. Did I mention the ribs are consistently excellent, cooked to perfection with a flavor that's simply irresistible?!!! Not to mention my delicious double boned pork chop (I had the Cajun version).
The friendly atmosphere, coupled with the owner George's warm welcome, makes every visit a memorable experience. And let's not forget the bread pudding - it's the ultimate indulgence (my wife's favorite)!
If you're looking for a great meal with a friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend a trip to Gale St Inn.

My wife and I stop there on the way home from the hospital, haven't been there for a long time. One of the few places that have not degraded over the years. French onion soup was perfect. Ribs were the same as before, perfect. And of course the fantastic Carrot cake, still a crown jewel. It was like going home again, knowing it's the same good food as before. They had a mandolin player doing some nice songs which made a nice touch for the evening.

My wife and I had a great meal here recently.
We shared an app of calamari which was very good and I had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup that was excellent and after a taste my wife ordered a cup as well. For our main dish she ordered a Greek salad which was really good despite maybe needing a bit more romaine lettuce. Being from KC I had to try their famous BBQ ribs. They were excellent!
George the owner despite being very busy took the time to visit our table and was a gracious host. Great dining experience!

Everything was great. The ribs were tender and had no fat. The fries were very good. Our reservation was 7:45p but they were able to seat us at 6p. Very nice staff.
