Love the rooftop setup and the brat plate and leberkase sandwich were super delicious. Perfect place to hangout and enjoy the weather with some solid food and beer! Remember — it’s cash only, but they have an ATM!
I visited Gene's during my last visit to Chicago. It was so great that I am planning another Chicago trip sooner. The food selection is mouthwatering, the deli is insane, the wine/beer selection was amazing... You feel like a kid in a candy/toy/video game store. You need to visit.
Wonderful grocery store with a great selection of imported goods, fresh produce/meat, and an excellent deli. The rooftop (open in the summer) is also an awesome place to visit for lunch.
