Food was great but service was highly disappointing. At this price point, I don't expect worse service than I get at my local Applebee's.

Wow! This was one of the best steak house experiences I have ever had. The food, the services, the atmosphere, and the drinks. I enjoyed everything. My server was on top of everything. My steak was cook medium to perfection. The Brussels sprouts were full of maple bacon. Beers never stopped flowing. A must visit if you are in Chi town.

Came in Easter Sunday and they sat us next to the window with great view. Steak was marvelous and shrimp cocktail hit the spot. I hope to return someday if i make it back to this town

Phenomenal steakhouse meat was like butter .Service was five star atmosphere was like a neighborhood bar ? happy place great location if you go to Chicago and you don't go to Gibsons you wasted a trip.

Hello, I came across your blog.The staff were friendly and although their English was limited, they explained things well and I enjoyed my meal. I asked for takeout, and they said of course they would, and it was a meaningful experience with my first steak in America.

As a top rated streak house in Chicago I thought it was .... pleasant. Gibsons was not, however, anything close to being in an exceptional steak house league.All the appetizers, side dishes, and salads were good. Crab cakes, very good, they even made us a special off the menu affogato after dinner, but I must admit, the steaks were just.. Over-seasondly Good.Good enough not to complain much about the price, but not good enough that you savored it through every penny's worth.Frankly, the common, but dependable chains like Ruth's Chris or Capital Grill are better or at the VERY LEAST as good..Given the heavy local competition, I'd most likely elect to skip it for a different option next time.

Honestly? We didn't have the best experience. Our waiter was terrific, but everything else was a bit of a miss.The Chicago cut was much thinner than the demo tray indicated. Our steaks were cooked incorrectly, with the doneness bring reversed on how we ordered. The double baked potato was simply not good.Maybe just an off night.
