I don't understand why the three ladies behind the cafe had a short attitude for no reason. If I could I would have removed my tip or put zero. My food wasn't that great, but one of the managers extremely helpful/kind including the employee w the English accent.
This used to be one of our favorite places. I loved it because it had good food and was pet friendly. They have always been expensive but they decided to change the menu (ruined it IMO) to make it more expensive.
The part that is the most disappointing is how much the service has gone down. They had started by not giving card punches per drink to one per order and gaslighting you when you asked about it.
And today i had an awful experience (not the first time with this issue). I am very particular about my matcha. They gave me the wrong milk type and added sweetener and when i asked for it to be corrected they told me there’s nothing they could do. So i just wasted my money on a drink that i will not be drinking.
Been feeling annoyed about the changes for a while, but i think this might have been the last drop for me.
It was a really busy Sunday morning when we went, but the line moved quickly and they told you were to sit which was helpful so you weren't just walking around aimlessly. Food was delicious, although super filling.
I had a cruffin and breakfast croissant.
Ordered a sandwich specifically for the avocado. Did not receive avocado on it. I spoke to two team members upstairs doing expo, they were confused if it came with avocado and asked if we’d like it remade. I said it was fine to it to be on the side. After a while with no response, I went to a different team member who said they would check on it. After no response after, we went back downstairs to get a refund where we were met like we were rude customers. It was a disappointing experience and we were treated like we were the issue. We just wanted the avocado! After 40 minutes of back and forth, we left at least with a refund.
Excellent service, friendly staff and the quality of food… chefs kiss! 😚
Nice location! The upstairs seating is really cute as well as the outdoor patio when it's warm out. I got a breakfast croissant which was delicious.
Goddess and the Baker is truly setting the bar for excellence with regard to taking care of their military members first responders police firefighters. We deeply appreciate that discount. Moreover the food the service and the atmosphere were 1 million out of 1 million stars. Thank you so much for that top notch experience. As part of a class assignment for Moody Bible Institute we went as a group and spelled out the word JOY! Just like the joy we experienced here at Goddess and the Baker. May God bless you for your generosity towards Military First Responders and Firefighters!
Terribly slow!
I got a fruit tart and a premade dragon fruit lemonade but the lemonade I got from the shelf was already open. I ended up telling the baristas and they made me a new one, but the new one was filled to the brim with ice so I got like 75% less juice than I would have with a premade lemonade. The fruit tart was very yummy tho I just wish I got more lemonade.
The Goddess and the Baker in River North is a gem for a quick business meeting or casual catch-up with friends. The location is perfect, and the ambiance is vibrant yet cozy, with a welcoming and stylish interior. Today, I tried the ice-cold mint lemonade, which was incredibly refreshing – just the right balance of tart and sweet with a cool minty kick. Their menu has plenty of options for drinks and bites, so it's easy to find something everyone will enjoy. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

I’m in Chicago for 3 days and I’ve been here for breakfast (Grand location) all 3 mornings. The food and service is high quality but still in a fast paced environment. We had interactions with one stellar employee every morning, Abien. He was personable, accommodating and always ensuring we had everything we need. I can’t say enough how much he positively impacted my experience here all 3 mornings of our visit, we’ll definitely be back!

Great coffee shop, with a wide array of breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and wraps. We went on chicago marathon weekend and it was absolutely packed since it was right on the route. They kept the line moving quick by sending people outside to wait for thier food/drink after they ordered.

This has to be one of my favorite locations because not only does it have a really nice patio to sit on, but there's a second floor that you can dine on and overlook part of the city.
The service here is on par with the other locations with it being speedy and the staff friendly.
Although I just got a drink here and usually due at this location, they've always been spot on and the quality is consistent with the other locations in the city that I've been to. I have no doubts that the food would be similar.
Vegetarian options: Although I just went here for a drink, I know that all the goddess in the baker locations have plenty of vegetarian options that are clearly labeled.
