I went there for the first time yesterday, even though I've lived in the neighborhood for about 9 years. I placed my order for pickup and was told it'd be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 11 minutes after I called to order my burrito and was charged for my food upon arriving. Once I paid, the girl (not the most pleasant of demeanors) walked to the back to see if my burrito was done. It hadn't even been started. I guess the ticket never printed - and that's fine. I only found out through the conversation the girl had with the cook. So this girl comes back to the front, reprints my meal ticket and tells me that my food would be right out. When she went to fill my agua de horchata, she started by putting ice in the cup - so I said, "excuse me, I'm sorry but I said no ice." The glare I got from her was unexpected and unwarranted - especially since my food wasn't ready. I start work very early and I call ahead when I order food because I just want to get home, I don't want to stand around in a restaurant waiting for my food - especially when the staff has an attitude that I don't need after a hard day's work. The food itself? That steak burrito should be called a chewy steak burrito. Very stringy, chewy, underseasoned meat.I will not be going back to this place ever again.

Breakfast of chilaquiles with steak was terrible. The piece of steak given was bad quality meat and I'm not kidding when I say the amount was literally 2.0 ounces at best. For $15.00 this is terrible. Chilaquiles were pretty flavorless. I think I really just paid for two Sunnyside up eggs. First and last time I get ripped off here. DO NOT GET BREAKFAST HERE!

Usually like this place but the steak was so burnt couldn't even eat it .... So burnt that it would get stuck in teeth and cut your gums. Not sure how cooks thought it was ok to serve this

Proper handwashing is not implemented here. They’ve failed health inspections. I love the Torta de milanesa and so does my sister. But the vomiting from food poisoning is NOT good. They’ve received numerous violations and comments from the city’s food inspections. Beware if ordering from here!

But in this cold weather I do not recommend the tamales. I placed my order there to take away, at 8:42 am and at 9:50 I was still waiting. My surprise was that they were heating the tamales in the microwave ? it is supposed to be early and the tamales They are in a steamer ?the cashier Janine, very eggy, takes care of you, it's true, it seems like you're going to ask her. They also heat the champurrado in the microwave, it's better to do it at home... I was so bothered by the poor service of the cooks that I had to cancel my order. I won't learn again that if I go to give away my $, I'd rather start making them.

I'm upset that they have raised their prices. It's ridiculous how much they are charging now.

Wow phone girl totally scolded me when I tried to order, when she got confused and when I tried to apologize for the confusion she says I need to learn how to order . Sure I'm taking my hundred dollar order elsewhere. Never been treated like that at LA Tia in 15 -20 years of buying food there. So so sad

La Tia is a very nice neighborhood place to get a quick Mexican meal. Staff is friendly and bilingual, and food is very good! I've had the soft-shell, flour tortilla tacos and they are excellent! Horchata is great, too!

Tried for the first time and it was really good! Ordered al pastor tacos and cabeza tacos with cebolla and horchata to drink. The horchata is home made and soo good!Small detail i didn’t care for is that they wrapped my cebolla with a lime sometimes and i personally dont care for that.
