Judging by the reviews, I think my bad experience may have been a fluke. We came in at 11:30 and we were the first ones there for lunch. The whole place was empty at that point. I ordered the two taco lunch special, carnitas. What I got tasted very bad, it had a flavor like cheese... but there was no cheese anywhere in the dish. The meat was older and dried out at least a day old, if not more. Maybe it was because we were the first ones for lunch? But I couldn't take more than one bite. The chips and green salsa were great. The other people at the table who didn't get carnitas said their food was bland but definitely not old like the carnitas was. This was 12/11/24.

I go here often for work due to working nearby by so when I needed to cater a work event in August Gordo’s was an obvious choice because my co workers and I love the food…then I wanted to treat my family to a great meal and game night and Gordo’s came to the rescue again. The catering portions were very generous and the food is delicious. Thank you Freddy and Issac, and everyone who helps to provide amazing vibes and great food.

This place is amazing! Food is authentic, prepared wonderfully and served fast all times I’ve been here. The staff is attentive and very nice and so welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is super welcoming and calming. Lots to look at and enjoy. The entire establishment is very clean and looked after. A great place to have a wonderful relaxing and well served meal !
This is the view overlooking the park where they are located behind the Swissotel where my wife and stayed for our 10yr anniversary.
Short walk from many of the Upper Wacker Dr hotels and Navy Pier area .
Parking: Sometimes if not willing to pay for some parking expect to walk 1/4-1/2 mile from free parking areas.
Got a tostada to go and got home to find out the bread of my $20 sandwich wasn’t even toasted wtf. I’ve lived a the neighborhood for 3 years and only eaten here a handful of times because the only thing good about it is the close proximity to my apt. Burritos are rolled SLOPPY, meat is not strained and they’re loose also no matter what I get, if it’s take out it’s soggy and wet. I know there’s steam etc but I lived in Logan square for 5 years before this so maybe my standards are higher but there’s no soggy burritos up there I promise you.
Taco Tuesday is decent prices and tacos are pretty good. But the rest of the menu is expensive which I get is on par for the neighborhood but when there’s a grocery store nextdoor you better bring the flavor, I’m very capable of make mediocre Mexican food at home.

I have been to Gordos twice and both times I had Margi as our waitress and she did a fantastic job! She was very attentive, making sure we had what we needed and our drinks were always full.
