I made a mistake and ordered to this location instead of mag mile and they took care of it with no complaints and I got my order still. 10/10 service I really appreciate this kind of service and will continues coming to Gotham bagel locations.

Great service, drip coffee was rich and smooth not bitter. Plain bagel with eye toasted toasted to perfection. You need to stop by and grab a bagel and coffee to go or sit and enjoy.

I was super excited to come and try the bagel here but was disappointed. Bagel was very dry. I got the spicy sausage bagel. No kick to it. Very bland🥲 not worth $16
Gotham Bagels is hands down the best bagel spot I’ve ever tried. It was so good we ended up ordering three mornings in a row during our trip to Chicago. We went both sweet and savory—cinnamon sugar with maple cream cheese, and a bacon, egg & cheese on an onion bagel—and every bite was incredible. Truly 12/10! Online ordering was quick and easy, and I’ll absolutely be back on my next visit.

I wanted to try Gotham Bagels as I'm a bagel fanatic, but I couldn't justify paying $5 for a bagel with butter on it. No matter how good a bagel is, charging $3 for the bagel and then $2 for the butter is a stretch.
The Bagler is just a few blocks south and they charge $3.30 for a bagel with butter.
A short drive to Niles will get you to New York Bagel & Bialy where they sell *incredible* bagels for $1 a piece and seem to do great business (open 24/7 too).
Curious that the Madison, WI location of Gotham Bagels sells bagels for $1.30
I understand that Chicago rent is more, but on the TimeOut NYC list of the top 18 bagel shops (in NYC) nearly every single one sells a bagel for around $1.25 and a bagel with butter for just around $3 .. and NYC rent is always more than Chicago.
I understand you need a margin and profit ... but I imagine a lower cost would increase business and you'd end up making far more $$ in the long run.
I may visit one day, perhaps on a future visit to Madison.
Update: (changed 2 stars to 3 stars).
I have had the opportunity to try some Gotham bagels at the location near Michigan Ave/Mag Mile. These are pretty good (and big) bagels. They’re on the pricier side, so I wouldn’t go frequently. The coffee was ok..there were grinds in my drip coffee on two different visits, so they could use some work at that location. Service was quick(ish) in the AM.

I placed an online order for pick up a day in advance. When I went to pick up the order, the store had not realized they had an online order that day and were out of several of the bagels I had ordered. I was excited to get bagels for all my friends coming to town, however I would not do this again. They were not apologetic, just asked what I wanted to substitute them for. This was also later in the day so they were already sold out of almost everything.

$50 for two bagel sandwiches and two coffees are you kidding me??? The bagel was so chewy and small. Not worth the $17 that’s for sure. I have never paid that much for a freaking bagel sandwich. Not returning

I was there on July 27. They missed parts of my order so I had to come back. The rude unsmiling young person at the front game my passive aggressive attitude and told me to wait while they made a show of looking through me while serving 10 other ppl. They it took her a second to pass me a missing parts. No apologies, no smiles. Honestly, bagel was just ok, not worth the bad experience. and $19 I paid for it. There is no competition in the hood unfortunately.
And why do u ask if cutlery etc is required and then don’t put it the bag?

My favorite bagels in the city! I usually get the sesame, everything, and honey whole wheat bagels and the veggie and scallion cream cheese. The lox sandwich and OMFG are also incredible. Check out the day old frozen bagels too for a work week breakfast. Price is higher but portion sizes are enormous and quality is top notch. Also pretty ingenious they are able to use the wine bar in the morning. Have been and will continue to be a regular here

I really wanted to like this place. But, the bagel was doughy and chewy. Way too expensive, for $15 I’d hope for more bacon. Restaurant is dark loud and confusing (not a great breakfast vibe). Staff isn’t very nice. Do not understand the hype. Go anywhere else. Lowest score on Beli for me :/
