The service here is usually solid. In the past, our orders have been delicious, delivered promptly, and the drivers followed delivery instructions well.
Unfortunately, this last experience was very disappointing. The main item we ordered wasn’t available, and no equivalent option was offered. Grubhub couldn’t cancel the order, and although it showed as “delivered,” the food never arrived. No call from the restaurant or their supposed third-party driver.
Grubhub did refund us, but if restaurants aren’t going to use Grubhub for proper checks and balances, there needs to be a better verification process in place for these “third-party deliveries.” The lack of accountability and communication was frustrating. After this, we don’t plan to order again.
Food quality is amazing. Prices are inflated but the great quality makes up for it. Super sweet woman taking our order. A handful of unique and diverse menu items including a honeydew lemonade which was delicious and a cinnamon roll shake. I highly recommend this restaurant!

This was our first time eating at the location. Usually, we'd do delivery or takeout, so getting our food at different times was a bit off-putting. The food itself was okay.

First time @ Great Wall and it did not disappoint! 🔥southsider here from 63rd ! Took the red line all the way to Loyola, had a amazing evening dinner with my friends in which we all had to share due to the portions being HUGE ! Staff was friendly and they give free tap water. Overall very delicious and very quick. Thanks guys !

So, full disclosure, I’m a lo mein fiend who grew up in Ohio. I am constantly on the hunt for those thick, chewy lo mein noodles (as opposed to the thin, angel hair feeling ones that I can’t get into). I live in Roger’s Park and my go to place is closed on Monday. So I was on the hunt. Stopped by Great Wall, ordered pork lo mein and wonton soup. Cashier was a doll, very polite, came back with my missing chop sticks with a smile. Get home, start to dig in. Soup was ok. Not awful, nowhere near the best. Wontons were a little heavy and there was waaaay too much sesame oil in the soup. I open the pork lo mein, immediately smacked in the nose by a super strong vinegar smell. It almost smelled like cole slaw. Left this reviewer very confused, but the smell dissipated pretty quickly. Couldn’t tell you who the culprit was. I see the noodles, nice thick and bouncy egg noodles, as expected. I take a bite, something is very wrong. The texture is off. feels like I’m eating a salad. Don’t get me wrong. I like vegetables in my lo mein. Carrots? Necessary. Celery, cabbage, spring onion? Of course! Bean sprouts? Sure. Tiny flakes of shredded lettuce? Now I don’t know what we’re talking about anymore. The lettuce shreds were everywhere and I couldn’t experience that silky bite of noodle and pork that I was craving. It was also very wet. Like, pools of brown liquid wet. Did I eat all of it? You bet I did. I paid for all of it didn’t I ( two more dollars and half the portion of my go to, btw). Will I be going back anytime soon? That’s a hard no from me.

Great hot and sour soup - tasty and fantastic tofu. Really yummy spareribs.
Everything else is good, not great. A little on the salty side and not super impressed by portion size for the price. Overall, decent. An ok plan b or c when you want a change.

This was a take out order. I ordered the steak with vegetables and white rice. A side oder of pot stickers. I ate the food and a half hour later, I had diarrhea. Won't be going back there.

Overpriced and disgusting. Ordered through uber cause the rating was higher. When the food arrived we immediately opened it and some of the dishes felt raw. The orange chicken was more batter than chicken and not cooked all the way through, incredibly disgusting only aye around 2 pieces before I wanted to puke. The crab Rangoon basically had no crab tasted like pure cream cheese and came with a gross sweet pink sauce that basically tasted like a melted jolly rancher. The beef FRIED rice was not even fried well just looked like a mushy wet pile or rice with undercooked beef and no vegetables or egg. Would never order from here again not even under the influence. Definitely not recommending this to anyone either.
