Gretel is a much-hyped spot with an expected long wait due to no reservations. Plan accordingly and be prepared for a 2+ hour wait at peak time, and there are plenty of fun spots within walking distance to get a drink while you wait.

Once we were sat, our server was great! Kind and attentive without being overbearing, I always appreciate when we’re left to linger at the table and have a drink before placing food orders and not feeling rushed.

Great music, awesome staff and delicious food. The rib appetizer and the elote had so much flavor. We both had the burger and it was great. The fries were on the skinny side and they were a little overdone but the dipping sauce made up for it. We will definitely be back.

My first visit was a happenstance as I made my way eastward, on the beautiful stretch of Armitage Ave that borders Logan/ Humboldt. Tall ceilings with a lofty vibe. Granite bar with a large selection of spirits on their neatly arranged back bar. Plenty of space for large parties and one on one seating for date nights, on their main level.
