The food was good until I noticed small hair in the food and the owner was very rude unprofessional.

Grilled Hawaiian Leaf Sausage (Bo La Lot) was delicious
Although I've only tried this one pho restaurant in this area, their pho is already far more authentic than those in Chinatown. The pho served in Chinatown is greasy and fishy. I'm truly grateful to find delicious pho again here. While I still find the broth a bit salty, I won't complain too much. The restaurant is bright and spacious, with service that's adequate. The appetizer of Hawaiian leaf sausage was quite tasty (though perhaps too salty for some) and came in a generous portion.

I was served undercooked/rancid chicken. I noticed something was wrong as soon as my banh mi was brought to me. The chicken was pink, raw, and mushy. It had a rancid aftertaste. I took a photo in case I had food poisoning symptoms and only after did I notice the hair in my food! This has left me feeling so sick and disgusted :( I am quite disappointed by my experience

The service was fairly attentive, so that was a positive. However, we made the mistake of not ordering what this restaurant is known to be good at.
The taro coconut smoothie had a texture of mashed potatoes mixed into coconut milk. Don’t expect it to be like taro bubble tea!
The mixed seafood stir fry was underwhelming, with a ton of that American-chinese takeout dark cornstarchy sauce. I did think the shrimp were large and the seafood variety was reasonable, but I hoped for a little better. I also ordered soft egg noodles, but with the amount of sauce, crispy noodles would have worked better for this.
The caramelized pork belly was not that crispy or caramelized. The shrimp was fine, but the meal in general didn’t have much flavor or sauce. We asked for spicy sauce on the side.
I think a safer bet would be to order what other reviewers recommend; if we return we’d try the Hawaiian sausage.

I live right around the corner from this spot and finally decided to give it a try. I’ve had a solid stomach my whole life and I’m willing to eat most things… however I ordered the beef and broccoli. The meat was nothing but strips of weird slimy slightly pink meat. I picked it off and just ate the steamed veggies that were in a covered in a brown sauce. Sadly my stomach still protested after leaving. It’s been two days and I still feel off.
For what it’s worth, the service was good.

I ordered takeout, and it was fresh and delicious. The staff were very friendly and even offered to hold my dogs outside so I could comfortably come inside and pick up my order. I tried three different dishes, and they were all tasty with generous portions. I definitely look forward to coming back!

Food is incredible, we had the Bahn Mi, Pho, and Spring Roll Self-Wraps. Coconut iced coffee was made just like how it’s done in Vietnam. But what really topped it off was the lovely service. Definitely coming back :))

Service is good and they are staffed up for lunch time. My dry style hu tieu with the tomato/fish/shrimp sarsa was insane. Chased with a thoughtful sidebroth of gio, and finished with a crisp sugacane juice. Under $25, given the sugarcane juice is damn well $10 (well worth it.) But either item is worth a visit at Hai Yen. Can't wait to try their mam this weekend... or just more of what I just had.!
