this place is such a joke, they dont even toast your bagel when you order a bagel sandwhich. everything is haphazardly thrown together. if you order a sandwhich with jalapeños its more seeds that actual pepper.

I ordered the pastrami sandwich they toasted it. I didn't want it toasted and the sandwich bread was unseeded rye it tasted old. I just ate the pastrami meat out of it and threw the unseeded rye bread out. I explained to them why I chose them for a pastrami sandwich. I told them I normally go to Moon's deli on Madison and Western but Moon's dont do pastrami they do good fresh cornbread sandwiches. I will never go back to Halsted Street deli. For a 19.00 sandwich it should habe been fresh and delicious.
Ritually get my orders wrong. Even after taking it back for a correction it was still wrong.I was polite too and they are still not very professional. I didn' enjoy arguing in front of a bunch of other patrons. I asked for a refund after two rounds of it being wrong. Just do it. Why make a scene? Why make me into the bad guy just because I wanted what I paid for. Finally got my refund. I wont return. Why continue to go places where the orders are repeatedly wrong? It'd be fine if I was even able to eat tomatoes. But I am not. Have more respect for people with food restrictions.Hire someone to make the sandwiches that actually listens to the order and retains it so patrons do not have to return TWICE to correct the error.Oh and customers? Keep your receipts.
Went here because I wanted a classic breakfast sandwich. After looking at the menu I noticed they didn't have what I wanted which was a bacon, egg and cheese on toast. They had it in variations with other added ingredients. The cashier told me they could make it. The wait was about 10 min, maybe less. The price was way too high for what I ordered. My bill was $7 and change. The sandwich was plain, nothing special. I wasn't thrilled and nothing about it made me want to go back. 1st and last time for me.
I just ordered from your deli at ogilvie station in chicago. Very rude . I ordered 1/2 sandwich, soup & drinkSign said #1-16 only. $8.99.So I ordered #15 for my sandwich. Got to cashier. She charged me 9.99 because she said pastrami is more expensive meat. Asked which soup I wanted-chicken noodle or chili. Chili is not soup. Very very upset at whole experience. Very rude cashier and woman from back room.

Upcharged at the register by soup lady because certain meats cost more. And even the cashier didnt know that. So how would I? Sandwich was not as described. Not thinly sliced, not piled high. And was super chewy with bigs chunks of fat (almost 1/3 of meat). When upcharging, make sure the quality is there. Too many other places to chose from to deal with this. Ordered similar meal at Jason's deli 2 days ago. It was thinly sliced, plied high and came with chips and a pickle - same price.
I had the#13 Ohio St and it's their version of a Reuben. it was delicious. I had a half sandwich which was plenty.they serve it nice and hot. There wasn't too long of a wait. The staff was quick during the lunch hour. And they were all pretty friendly. It was a nice sandwhich spot. Looking forward to stopping by again soon.

Good sandwiches and salads
Probably the only Halsted Street deli I will like. Been to almost all of them because of cheap deals. The guy was super friendly, and the food was good!
Try the 47. You're welcome.
Easily the best buffalo chicken wrap I've ever had... no joke. Thanks boys!
