I totally understand that good help is hard to find.

The hot honey pepperoni pizza is great. The staff…not so much. Fairly rude and inattentive. They spent a significant amount of time complaining to each other about the lack of a weekly schedule and the problems with other staff members. If you are sitting at a bar…you expect a bartender to at least respond when you are looking directly at them and ask a question. These folks don’t.

Pizza uninspiring, even for airport food. Water > $6. Cashiers would not even fill up a mug with hot water with no one in line, despite it being right at registers.

We stopped for a breakfast pizza on a layover. The staff was on their phones with their back to the counter and had zero interest in serving us. We tried to use the kiosk but you couldn’t order breakfast pizza there when our pizzas were finally ready the staff member pretty much threw the boxes at us without so much as a thank you. The person cooking the pizza was playing on her phone inside a pizza box which made it look like she was touching food with her bare hands. This wonderful location was across from B19. FYI the overpriced pizza was not that great.

Short layover and decided to grab a drink. Lady beside me was drinking what I believe was a Rosè spritzer that the bartender made up. Sounded good. This was OJ and Rosè, about 4-5 oz worth... $18?! Absolute robbery. No excuse. Complete joke of a place. AVOID AT ALL

I love pizza and for the first time, I had Home Run Inn Pizza at MDW Airport on Friday, January 24, 2025. I pass through MDW at least 6 times a year but I have never stopped at Home Run Inn for pizza.

It was late afternoon and there was a bit of a line but I wanted pizza. I ordered through one of their two kiosks. After about 15 minutes, out came the pizza. I ordered sausage instead of pepperoni. It was hot. Unfortunately not the best airport pizza that I have had but it was edible. Crust was all right. Sauce needed more flavor, probably needed more garlic and oregano. It could have used more sausage for the price.

So far the best airport pizza I have eaten was either at PDX or SEA airport. I guess I expected better in Chicago because of pizza like Giordano's. I am not sure I would buy it again from the airport. I hope their brick and mortar outlets are better.

I am not sure who they had working on this particular night, but this was the worst pizza Ive ever had. I was on a layover but was very hungry. I figured you cant go wrong with pizza….ohhhh was I wrong. This veggie pizza was super burnt and it looked like they simply tossed on a package of veggies after burning the cheese and crust. Let’s just say I wound up going to my final destination still hungry. Highly disappointed w Home Run Inn Pizza.

5 am just opened getting off working a midnight. I would just like a drink and chill before flight but sadly I can’t even sit down and ask if they have lemonade for a mixed drink without them telling me to leave, because they assumed I’m not ordering an alcoholic drink. Common courtesy would let someone order a lemonade and say sorry we can only do mixed drinks or something first. Also was the only person sitting. Needless to say that’s rude. But can’t expect less in midway. Always rude.

Horrible. I contracted food poisoning eating their meat lovers pizza. I barely made it through my flight afterwards.

Horrible staff, terrible representation of a supposed Chicago institution. At home a while ago I cooked a frozen Home Run Inn pizza from the grocery, it was pretty darn good, thought the fresh would be great. No real difference. Except the experience of standing in front of the cashier for minutes while being ignored, only to be told that the actual cashier is on break, order at the kiosk. Keep in mind she was working at the register facing me while avoiding eye contact. Yeah try telling me when I get there so I can avoid looking at your fugly mug. Pizza was also sliced very crappy. The workers don't care, why should I. Go somewhere else.

Just had a couple of beers but my delayed flight and general airport experience was greatly improved thanks to Jeanine who thoughtfully creates a fun and enjoyable community in a transient bar! 🍻 🙌

As a Chicago native, this is the first home run inn I will not be returning to. I stopped here to grab my kids some food since our flight was delayed today (1/4/25 at approximately 330pm). The cheese pizza I received was burnt. I requested another one only for the cook to get upset with myself and the hostess for asking for a remake. The wait was about 15mins, which was fine but the cook was still burning pizzas and getting upset because the cashier/ hostess would not accept them. His attitude was very unprofessional. If this is your first time having home run inn, do not go to the one in the airport. Go to a real restaurant and get the full experience

I had a short layover and wanted Chicago pizza. This was not only not Chicago, it was barely pizza. $20 for a microwaved pizza with re-vomitted grey peppers they advertised as veggies. Run for the hills away from this waste of space.

They did promptly and kindly issue a refund.

I have never in my life heard of a $24 cocktail. When my wife and I got two cosmos and the bill came out to nearly 50 dollars with tax, we were shocked. The cocktails were horrible.

We also got a beef sandwich and pizza. The beef sandwich was better than the pizza (how can you say something is all natural and fresh when it is so clearly frozen), but both were nearly inedible and so so bad.

Loved listening to the guys in the kitchen and the lady at the counter argue about what was needed for the customers and insisting it was already made while I waited 20+ minutes for my pizza. The cussing back and forth was fun, too. No sign of a manager anywhere. Once I got the pizza, it was great, but it wasn't even cut. Great fun to eat a 1-piece pizza in an airport out of a box.
