The food is always good at Hugo's, but we've learned that the portions are very generous, too much food for us (2 mid-70s folks). We love being able to order as we did last night: two appetizers (frog legs and seared tuna) and splitting a Caesar salad. Food, service, and drinks were all excellent.
Food was great 10/10! Oysters 10/10! Service was amazing they took such very good care of my fiancé and I for our date weekend in Chicago.
Food and service always excellent at any Gibson's owned restaurant. We had a party of 12 at Hugo's on Rush. The seating was tight and several people kept getting bumped from behind by servers and other patrons.
Our experience at Hugo's was memorable. The food, ambience, and the service from waitress to wait staff to managers was fantastic! It made a special night even more delightful! Thank you Hugo's!
Our server was outstanding and attentive during the busy happy hour time. We will definitely be back. Such a fun experience.
We had an incredible experience at Hugo's. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great night celebrating my bachelorette party. The was and drinks were delicious. Our server, Ulysses, was absolutely incredible.
Chicago classic. Never to be dethroned! Great place for any occasion. Amazing food in the heart of Chicago.
The service and food are unmatched. We went for a birthday and had the most amazing server. The manager came by multiple times to check and we also received complimentary dessert and champagne.
Haven't been here in years. The food was mediocre. I had the sauteed frog legs, they were tasteless. The service was great, but I can't see returning because my last 2 times weren't satisfied with the food.
Oysters were terrific. Steak and fish first class. Waiter friendly and attentive. Martini watery

Had a great time at Hugo's with my friends! First, I want to highlight the top-notch service we received from Carl and Orlando. They were attentive, helpful, and engaging—without ever being intrusive. Second, the food was fantastic. From the filet mignon and steak frites to the walleye pike, creamed spinach, and lump crab mac & cheese, everything was delicious. The only miss of the night was the Caesar salad, which had a watery dressing. Lastly, the desserts deserve a special mention. If you've ever been to a Gibson's restaurant, you already know—massive portions and incredible flavor. All in all, it was a great Friday night dining experience. I'll definitely be going back!
Brian was awesome. So friendly & knowledgeable of the menu. Oysters, frog legs , clam chowder soup & shared Chicago cut ribeye. Best steak ever. They even sliced the steak for us. Delicious b-day dessert. We went early so the noice was not a problem. By the time we left around 6:45 they were getting very buy and the noise increased a lot. Highly recommend . Always the best service & food at Hugo's. Sad the beef & barley is only on Thursday it's the best!
The food was generally good, especially the fish dishes. As a New Englander the clam chowder was excellent. But all the time I was there I felt like I was eating at a tourist joint and not a top scale fishery. Therefore the ambiance didn't match the cost to my mind.
Food was good all in all if we hadn't decided to wait for a table outside about an hour Finally by 7.30 we got a nice location , we already had wine from bar and knew exactly what to order. we had calamari for starter and shared sea bass which came with clam chowder which didn't have any seafood except potatoes or radish really didn't identify but can say it was just ok. Seabass was with peas and mushrooms very good and tender as it's should be and enough for two ladies. I f you are ok with plenty of people crowded dining and very loud inside this place is recommended
