Lobster wasn't fresh. Had a defrosted from frozen taste. Mussle sauce was weird but oysters were amazing. Staff was friendly and service was good. Would not return and can not recommend.
I first want to note that I went when this venue was presenting miseltoe the pop-up bar. This place was a lot of fun to go to, and the staff that I interacted with was very kind, and we had a few good conversations with them. The drinks that I had were simply amazing, especially the gingerbread milk punch. While we didn't order really any food, the things that we did have were also equally as good, especially the cheese curds.

So much potential but the hush money and Mordecai staff wasn’t as friendly as hoped or accommodating and it made for an awkward event. I wouldn’t recommend working with them unfortunately.

this popup upstairs at mordecai was great. the server was terrific as well. get the cheese curds you won't be sorry
Fantastic service! Great selection of whiskey and craft cocktails! Must visit bar!
good wine / food selection across the board. the veg lasagna was one of the best dishes we have had in some time...special prep and table service in a skillet as a mid course is ample.
I've been to Mordecai in the past and loved it. However for Valentine's Day, it was different. I got a call in the morning saying we could only be at our table for 1.5 hours because the restaurant was going to have a private event. I thought that time frame was fine considering our reservation was at 7. We we're pressured to order everything at once to get us out quicker, yet it took 55 minutes just for our appetizer to come out. The another 45 minutes for our main courses. Obviously we were at our table longer than 1.5 hours and no private party came in? Strange. They did give us dessert on the house for the delays. People came in after us and were leaving before us.
It would be five stars except that we called about parking and were told just pull up in front for valet, which we did. after 8-9 minutes sitting there we decided to go inside. Then we were told that the valet was next door in the hotel and they didn't have any control... we walked through the doors and the valet was just standing there and took care right away but maybe we should have been told to pull up next door Also there was a bit of a delay in the kitchen our particular night. both of these are minor and I would like to give it 5 stars which im sure on a different night I would have. I loved our waiter Austin. I loved his cocktail suggestions. was happy he kept us aware of the slight delay. also loved the food and ambiance. We will absolutely go back.
Everything was nice except when we were first presented with the check we discovered that we were overacharged. I have bad near vision and many time I just sign the charge and not pay attention. However, my companion caught that and they adjusted the charge. They did apologize but given the fact that I find this restaurant to be run to perfection, I left with some disappointment.
Our experience felt rushed and our server wasn't able to provide us with any recommendations from the menu. While I'm used to pricey drinks in the city, their cocktails were at least $10 above average cost at similar restaurants. Cheese curds and pasta were the best food items we tried!

Amazing dining experience ! Located in a city full of fine dining options, located in the heart of Wrigleyville, Mordecai is among a handful of fine dining establishments that stand at the top of the heap. Great innovations in the kitchen, top notch service. A thoughtful wine list make this spot a not miss dining destination
We had the tortellini appetizer which came with mushrooms and it was delectable! We then had the burger and roasted chicken which were both very solid. We had drinks at Hush Money - highly recommend.
Liked the ambience. Food was good especially Steak Tartare but dinner menu selections were limited. We went for whiskey cocktails and couldn't find anything we wanted to try in their cocktail menu. Service was inconsistent with timing and indifferent.
What an incredible dining experience! The burger here is amazing, drinks were solid and the place has an electric atmosphere. But the staff is what took our dinner to another level. I messaged them when I made the reservation as it was a special occasion and they brought out complementary champagne to start our meal and dessert to finish things off. My girlfriend still is talking about it 4 days later. Thank you!!
Food was good, but not great. Not worth the prices and very small portions. Waiter was very nice, but didn't offer any information, history, or pairing info on any whiskeys which is why we were there ( even after we questioned this). Very expensive dinner for three people and we weren't blown away. Would try hush money upstairs for drinks, but would not return for dinner
