I've eaten in many restaurants in Italy which are not as good as Il Milanese, right here in Chicago. It's exactly the sort of place you want to be able to walk to in your neighborhood, and go back to again and again. All of the staff is kind, and make you feel at home. (Special thanks to our server, Jason!) The ambience is cozy and fun.
Most importantly, the food is outstanding. The beef carpaccio with truffles was out of this world. So was the tagliatelle...
So glad I finally tried this place. I was sort of gutted to discover Due Lira closed, but was at least thankful this sister restaurant was so close. They really know what they are doing in terms of the food, service, and ambience. Really appreciated the heated patio and hope they will keep this open as long as feasible, as it is an accessibility need for some of us.

First time there. The staff was very very nice, as was the food. It was on a Friday and we were glad we had reservations for 6:15, since it did get crowded. We came because we were going to go to Due Lire further up on Lincoln, but saw that it just closed and this was a "sister" restaurant to them. We plan to go again.
