Rita was such a delight. I did not know it is her family business. She was cheerful, helpful, took time to chat and make beautiful sandwiches to go.Riding train back to Minnesota and what a treat to enjoy these wonderful sandwiches and lemon cake!!!! Thank you

Excellent breakfast sandwich. Freshly prepared, not pre-cooked. And very inexpensive. I’m going again soon!

For a breakfast place definitely skip- the fresh start breakfast sandwich was beyond sad. Absolutely zero flavor, I don't know if the lady forgot to add feta cheese but the sandwich was TINY like grocery store wheat bread for $10 definitely not worth it. I had to add salt to my sandwich because again there was no flavor.

Heads up this is strictly regarding the breakfast menu and coming for breakfast.1. Too expensive for what I got $14 for an abysmal sandwich and a cold brew2. Ordered the "Fresh Start" and didn't get half the items listed on the sandwich. By the time I had realized this I was in my office multiple blocks away. Even if all the items had been on the sandwich I don't think it would have been worth it. You can get a better sandwich cheaper in the same area.3. Both workers were pleasant.

This morning I walked by and on a whim I came into the store. I figured I would just be getting a regular breakfast sandwich and call it a day. But when I walked in, I was greeted by the sweetest person ever— Rita. I had never been here and asked what I should get. Immediately, i was greeted with a smile by Rita and she explained the breakfast options. I felt so welcomed and taken care of that I immediately decided this is my new breakfast stop. I hope you will continue to be in business for so many years!!! I will be back to try your lunch and to say hi ?

This was my first time in and I ordered the "Chicago Cheese Stars", which is quite literally a sandwich with 4-5 different cheeses on it, with the thought that it could be toasted. When I asked if they could toast it for me, one woman behind the counter explained that they don't their sandwiches because the bread is fresh and it ruins the taste (totally understandable once explained). When grabbing my sandwich, the other woman behind the counter decided to repeat this information at me as if I offended her by just asking the question. Giving 4 stars because as someone that honestly eats sandwiches mostly for the bread, it really is delicious! The attitude of the woman behind the counter though definitely soured my experience. No need to get upset over a simple question with a new customer who wasn't aware.

Sandwiches are very good! Only issue is they haven't updated their menu for higher prices. I saw them berating a confused customer who was wondering how much his sandwich actually cost. Bread is top-notch.

I ordered an Italian Sandwich and a Chicken Wild Rice soup. The bread was good and sweet - I know people may not like that sometimes but I think it adds a nice fluffy sweet flavor to the sandwich and I think the sauces were good. The soup was good but not as hot as I would like it to be.Please keep in mind that they charge extra due to inflation and those prices are not reflected at all on their menu prices. I order an 8inch, a 12 Oz soup, and a Gatorade and found myself charged $20 (they told me soup was 5.50$, 3$ for Gatorade, and 7.75$ for the sandwich). I turned around after paying and saw a faint sign that they now charge extra due to inflation. My coworkers speculate there's about a 20% charge added, which would make sense. In my opinion if a local join charges extra or raises prices I can totally support that. I think local joints are vital and add a lot of good flavor to a community. And with rising costs it's important to keep up with prices to make a living. I will always, always support price raises and would have gladly paid $10 for this "$7.75" sandwich. But I think transparency is very important. I think you should always be honest and upfront about costs so people know what they're paying for and they don't get a nasty surprise at the register. Why are soup prices blotted out on the menu? Why is the extra charge sign not behind the register where people can see it naturally? Why is the extra charge amount not specified? I am sure the owners can tell you the prices themselves but that adds a layer of inconvenience. When asking how much a Gatorade cost I was just tossed a hand wavy "I think it's like $3 or something". You gotta list this out or have this knowledge ready at the register.I might come back but we will see

Overpriced but I assume that is just because it's downtown in the loop but sandwich was pretty devoid of any meat.

Their “Steak and Cheese” is a disappointment, it’s mostly the bread and a thin layer of stuffing. They need to tweak the recipe. Also, first they ask me I want everything on it but then say are you sure, there’s lettuce there. I was like I guess… I am not the chef here. It’s almost $14 I could get a foot long at Jersey Mike’s for that money.

This place has to update their posted menu and/or not charge an automatic 20% tip.Ordered a $7.something sandwich (according to the posted menu), which is actually $8.25 based on the online menu, then ends up at $10.69 total. My theory is that I was charged the online menu price, plus an automatic 20% tip, but I was never shown the register to select a tip. Did not get a receipt, so I can’t confirm the breakdown. But I ended up being charged around 35% more than the posted price. It was a fine sandwich. However I will never go there again, on principal.

Best breakfast sandwiches in the city. Great sandwiches and friendly staff. My go to for a meal in the loop. Baked goods are great as well.

Sandwich was so so. They said bread was homemade but personally didn’t like the bread. Was dry and crumbly and too big compared to the amount of filling. More selection of veggie would have been nicer. Service was great.

Charged $6.99 a burrito as opposed to their website and menu stating $4.85.... 44% price increase not reflected on their menu. Seems like an unethical business practice. Nearly 15 dollar difference when buying 6-7 burritos for my coworkers
