Hostess sat us in the middle of the busiest part of the place, very loud, weird chairs. When we asked about other tables in the back, she said they were reserved. Most of them sat empty. Didn’t try to accommodate us. We won’t return!

I like a place that doesn't shell out on empty luxuries. Plenty of exposed lighting installations and spaces in progress, but they make up for it with curated music, thoughtful food and drink recommendations, and options for where you might sit and enjoy your company.

Funny to say about a wine bar but J9 has the best old-fashioned in Lincoln Park in my opinion. Get it with the Yellowstone whiskey please.

Really great wine, I had one of the Pinot Noirs and one of the Sauvignon Blancs. Both were great and suggestions based off of our servers suggestions. Our server was so kind and very attentive. From the outside it looks like a smaller wine bar but there's a large amount of seating compared to your typical wine bar and really intimate seating. Great spot for a date!

Great spot to stop in for a glass or to complement dinner in Lincoln Park. They have a great selection, enough space, and educated servers. People in our group also had cocktails so I think they have a full bar and some food options

Been going to J9 for a while. They always have a great selection of wines and the vibes are on point.Last night, while the wine was fantastic as usual, we had a very poor experience with the staff. A server was very rude to the 3 of us who came in for glass of wine or two before the bar closed. The interaction unfortunately put a damper on the evening and we had to sit at the bar awkwardly while we waited to close out. We did immediately have a chat with the manager about the interaction, so this review shouldn't be coming out of nowhere.We'll be back, but I hope to have a more welcoming experience next time.
