I've loved this place ever since I first came here in 2015. It's cozy, there's always seating even in the winter when a lot of cafes are packed (it's usually busy when I come but they just have a lot more space than some cafes), the treats are good and so is the coffee and it's WAY more affordable than most Chicago cafes too. The baristas are always friendly and direct and helpful too. Whenever I bring people here they have great things to say about it. I've also bought multiple hoodies here for family members, cuz the merch section is equally good. Long live Jackalope!

Very bummed to be trashing this place since it has become my daily go-to plus weekend mornings with my son, who also loves it. But after one of the owners' attitude today, they can suck an egg. The reviews on here are right, she's a jerk. You should quit, January, and leave the counter work to someone with a personality.
Have you ever found a place you didn't want to review because you loved it so much and didn't want to spoil it? This was that for me. I loved everything about it. The service was exceptional. I had one of the best sodas of my life (peach) and a coffee and donut and everything was delicious. I spent 2 hours here and didn't even notice the time go. So if you're in Bridgeport and you're looking for a great little coffee shop just come here.
