This was the best catering experience ever šŸ™Œ
I live in the Loop! (Downtown Chicago) and I heard about this place. So, I took a chance and placed a catering order for my daughter’s baby shower.

First, I’d like to start by saying it was an absolute pleasure to speak with a gentleman named Law over the phone. I’ve never placed a large catering order and he took time to explain everything to me and I placed my order. He asked me what time did I want to pick the food up and assured me it would be ready and that I didn’t have to worry about anything. I paid a deposit- he gave me the date of the next payment and I left everything to them.

Upon entering the restaurant today to pick up my order, not only was my order ready, the lady behind the counter greeted me with a smile and made sure I was the one picking up my order. (An added security) Thank you!!

They asked another guy to help me to my car and even he made small talk with me and made me laugh.

Having great customer service and meeting the customers expectations will create longevity for your business.

Overall, the experience lifted some of my anxiety off my heart. I’m planning my daughter’s first baby shower and the last thing I needed was for the food to be ruined or not be ready on time.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to say to all of you, Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
I wish nothing but peace and an abundance of financial support especially from the community.

I will definitely be back 🫔

This is Hyde Park Jerk!!!!

Bland no real seasoning.. just didn’t get the Jerk experience I expected. Everything was just ok. The sauce, the chicken, the plantains, the rice and peas just ok! The cabbage had no salt. No jerk flavors!

Only reason for my rating of 3 stars is because of the sides… I had the Mac & the rice and to say I didn’t like it. The noodles for the Mac was over cooked and the rice and peas just tasted horrible I honestly can’t describe the taste for them. Overall everything else was good. I had the chicken Rasta pasta, a whole chicken and yams, they were good but them others sides I think maybe going back to the drawing board with those.

Rice and peas are delicious, slight spice to them which is incredible, but not overly spicy. Jerk chicken has that great smokiness to them. My only critique would be if they added an oxtail gravy on the rice and peas. Otherwise great place. Portions are decent.

-Ordered jerk chicken dark meat, rice and peas with the Mac and cheese.

The food was cold and nasty. I order the four wing dinner and beef patties. Very nasty don't go here if you want good food.

The wait for food was rather lengthy but I will say it worth the wait. The jerk wings were hot, tender and delicious!!!

Waiting an hour & 15 min for 4 wings is crazy! & it was dry chicken! Just go around the corner to uncle joes. It will save you the headache. Bad customer service and the food is decent.

This was my first time trying this place out and I honestly didn’t think it was a bad experience. I was attracted to it by their big sign and when I was inside, I could see that they had their weekly lunch special going on. I immediately wanted to taste the 1/4 jerk chicken, but I was also looking for something sweet, something to drink and I couldn’t find it on the menu that’s blasted on the screens behind the cashier. It’s like ā€œfountain drinkā€ I need specificity, and I saw the cakes and beef patties, but they weren’t on that menu. On the printout menu, I saw that they sold plantains, but I had already ordered. If everything was on that menu, I probably would’ve ordered more.

The chicken I had was great, cooked through, it was a bit less meat than anticipated on the bones there but I’m sure that’s not something they can control. The beans and rice were really seasoned and it had this slightly sweet taste to it and I just thought that was the best beans and rice I’ve had. I can agree with other reviews when they mention the Mac and cheese being bland. In addition, mines were a little over cooked, which is why you would get the macaroni shells breaking after every scoop. Al dente would be my suggestion. Other than that, my overall experience with the Jerk Yard was good, the customer service was good too.
