Had an incredible meal at Joe's from start to finish! The service and atmosphere was so welcoming. You must have the steak tartare!! I will definitely be back!
One can do a whole lot better with many other restaurants. I don't know how there are so many positive reviews. They say they are a wine bar but honestly the wine selection is moderate and the prices are so high. Food was fine but small - very small portions. And everything is expensive for what it is. If everything was 2-5 dollars less it would be fine.
Outstanding meal and fun atmosphere yet intimate. Perfect for catch up with friends, family or date night.
John was amazing and got us seated right away. Brought us this amazing thin mint dessert that was to die for! Our waitress Kristen was awesome and made me a drink based on my preferences definitely a got to after work spot!
Whipped ricotta is the jam, we also loved the Parmesan puffs and the wine selection was great. Awesome service too
Always an amazing experience at Joe’s! The GM John is super friendly and Kristen always has fun new cocktails for me to try. The food is unreal, Chef Aras has great dishes with thoughtful touches. Definitely try the sea bass crudo, the steak tartare, pork chop + the black cod. Will be back again soon to try brunch.
Brooks was absolutely a gem and half. He was knowledgeable, friendly, outstanding customer service and had fabulous recommendations. Wonderful atmosphere and the blind tasting was marvelous and an unexpected delight. Highly recommend.
We are visiting from Seattle and LOVED this place. Staff were so friendly and helped guide us through the menu. Chef Aras came to the table to talk through my allergies. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The GM, John, also came over several times to check on us to make sure we were having a great time every step of the meal. We will be coming back for brunch tomorrow!
What an incredible surprise! Food, Drinks & Service - wish I could give it 5+ stars!! My sister & I had the best time on the patio! Alexander took care of us & the talented chef came out and shared his inspiration. We so appreciated the extra TLC with bubbly tastes paired with dessert & send off. We are so very grateful & can’t wait to come back. Thank you for this unexpected gift
I wanted to love this place. My boyfriend and I had been eagerly anticipating our reservation here, but it just wasn’t what we thought it would be. The restaurant itself is pretty small and very loud. Our waiter came to take our order about 2 minutes after we were seated. When we told him we needed just a couple minutes, we did not see him again for another 15. At that point he took our drink order and tried to scurry off; we told him we wanted to place our food order as well and he seemed annoyed. For drinks, we got the PCP and the Secret Garden. These were the highlight of the meal. They were delicious, though very small for $15. In terms of food, we tried the black cod, burrata, octopus arancini, and Brussels sprouts. We were underwhelmed by the burrata and the cod. Not bad, but nothing special. The burrata would have been better served with bread than with crackers. I liked the Brussels sprouts, but felt that they were a bit hard and undercooked. My boyfriend and I agree that the octopus arancini was just bad. We could smell it (in a bad way) from the moment it arrived at the table. It was the only item we did not finish. Overall, we felt that this meal was overpriced for the quantity and the quality of the food and service we received. There are better options in Fulton Market.

Went in without expectations and left wanting for more. Granted, our meal was very bread heavy, but we love bread; yet didn’t know 2 of the dishes were served with bread. The server seemed to be going through the motions. Wanted to order wine mid-meal but by the time he came back, we’d finished our meal and had already been waiting for the check for about 10 minutesReally enjoyed the mussels, ask for a spoon to finish the broth, it’s was garlicky and delicious. The whipped ricotta needed a bit more honey. While the tomato (on the tomato bread) had a nice consistency, definitely not something I’d order again. Fave menu item ordered was the steak tartare, which had an unexpected but welcomed spice.
My boyfriend & I went in on a sunday going off of the general good review that they had but needless to say we did not have a good experience at all. The hostess was quite irritated almost immediately of us asking for a different seating and just kind of tossed the menus on the table and the overall service wasn’t great at all. The food was ok if not below average. The paella is most definitely not a traditional paella, it came out super salty, oily and certainly not a fully fresh Paella from the novel experiences that we have had. The muscles were also very salty. Not the worst meal we have had but certainly not in any top tier and the service didn’t help.
We had high expectations and definitely the food tasted good. Nevertheless almost everything else was below average. Our waitress seemed to be under the influence of some kind of sedative medication and was not helpful in finding wine or selecting food for our table of 4 in any way. Portion are tiny (not only small) and if you do not want to leave hungry the bill adds up rapidly. Also the wine service was a joke. We ordered two bottles of Cabernet at around 75 Dollars each. The first tasted great, but the second had some taste of corkage. Needless to say that we had no change of tasting the second bottle and he just topped up our glasses. This was the least enjoyable restaurant of our 8 nights in Chicago.
Favorite thing I ate was the Raviolo - so much flavor! Highly recommend trying it.The overall atmosphere was nice, food was good, and service was great too. I also loved my Secret Garden cocktail and liked that it had flowers in it. I will say the music selection seemed strange but it didn’t bother me.
Came for drinks, their cocktails deserve some love! We originally sat outside but moved inside to sit at the bar to avoid rain. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. Drinks from left to right are Pretty in Pink, PCP, and Secret Garden. They were beautiful, delicious, and unique
