Stopped by Kai Sushi in the South Loop the other night, and man, it hit the spot. Ordered the Ocean Roll—shrimp tempura and avocado inside, topped with bluefin tuna, sweet chili sauce, and masago—for about $16. Also tried the Spicy Tuna Roll, which was around $10. Great sushi restaurant! We traveled to Chicago from Houston, Texas for our spring break with our son. We were craving sushi and found this cozy and economical sushi place. We ordered the Himachi special, Chicago fire and Scallop special rolls and they were delicious. To top it off, they were running a special of 50% off per roll per person on Tuesdays. Highly recommended!

One of my favorite sushi spots! I love the ocean roll and the salmon rolls. It’s also BYOB if you dine in. The staff is so friendly and helpful. This place is a hidden gem and a neighborhood favorite.
