I’ve heard great things about this bakery and genuinely wanted to try it. However, when I arrived, the exterior appeared neglected, including a heavily vandalized sign and very dirty windows that made it difficult to see inside. There was also a large encampment immediately near the entrance. Taken together, this made me feel uncomfortable entering alone, so I chose not to go in. While I understand some neighborhood conditions may be outside a business’s control, exterior maintenance and first impressions are factors that directly affect whether customers feel safe enough to walk through the door. I hope these issues improve, as I would like to experience the bakery itself in the future.

I really want to love this place because the food is so delicious and they have an interesting menu.

But it's the slowest cafe in Chicago. I don't think it's the fault of the staff, it seems like they juggle too much. There's someone trying to take orders and make coffee, someone else trying to make baked goods and also coffee's and then these same people also take the drinks out to customers.

The end result, a simple 2 drink order takes 10-15 mins. This has happened to me multiple times.

You guys either need more staff or a different workflow.

Try to give this place a chance again. First time I was there since I was Hispanic they assumed since I was buying four baguettes that I was buying for a restaurant. Little racist for me. The second time I was there person behind the counter completely ignored me for about 15 minutes. Then when I finally ordered, he said they were out of baguettes. It was 10 AM in the morning. I assume they were gonna make more later on, but he did not mention that he says they’re completely out. They have to fix their service.

Love the outdoor patio. The croissants are huge and tasty. I enjoyed the coffee and sandwiches as well.

The food used to be good, but recently it seems they’ve made changes—possibly cutting corners—while also raising their prices to unreasonable levels. The avocado toast, which once had a fresh and vibrant green look, now arrives dull, oxidized, and unappetizing, with a rancid taste to match. Unfortunately, with these changes, I will no longer be returning.

More seating available than the Humboldt Park location, but much more crowded. Also, everyone’s food was packed “to-go” even if you choose “here” so sandwiches are not prepared with as much care as other locations.

Love the atmosphere and service. Coffee is decent and pastries are so tasty. Their baguette though has no salt in it (maybe that’s on purpose? if so, then it’s just not for me).

I've been frequent at the La Boulangerie & Co for probably 15 years or so, back when they were next to the New Wave cafe across the street and had a legal dispute with them. I've always told people these are the best croissants in town. The place is definitely more pricey than any other one, but it was always worth it.
With that said today was the first day when I had a croissant and it was off. It just tasted mediocre at best. I'll definitely give them one more chance, but this was not much better than getting a croissant at Whole Foods. Yes, it was fresh, but it just wasn't what a croissant should be, on many levels. The glaze, the honeycomb inside...not sure if they changed bakers, but something is off. And If I am paying $5-6 instead of $2-3 then the quality better reflect that!

Amazing food, me and my friend had crossaint sandwhiches, they were absolutely amazing! It was a little pricey, and i didnt like a lot of this do it yourself stuff like with water and then wanna ask for a tip. But overall great experience would most definitely come back more often

Weekend women cashiers give poor service, have poor attitudes, and aren’t knowledgeable about menu or prices.

Love this place, come every Sunday. The pastries are amazing and the staff is friendly. Especially the younger guy with black hair who works down in the kitchen.

Food was pretty good, especially for a coffee shop, and latte was great. Unfortunately, service was very slow.

The brie/onion/arugula/egg criossant is actually magnificent! If I have a breakfast sandwich and it's not THIS, I don't want it! I ate this thing saying Mmmm....MMM! the whole time!

I had to deduct a star for the moist yet dry croissant bread pudding. It needed syrup, more sugar, and def more cinnamon! It was like a boring brick of carbs. Also I love matcha but there's had awful reviews so that's a pity. Just get the criossant!
