I’ve heard great things about this bakery and genuinely wanted to try it. However, when I arrived, the exterior appeared neglected, including a heavily vandalized sign and very dirty windows that made it difficult to see inside. There was also a large encampment immediately near the entrance. Taken together, this made me feel uncomfortable entering alone, so I chose not to go in. I really want to love this place because the food is so delicious and they have an interesting menu.
But it's the slowest cafe in Chicago. I don't think it's the fault of the staff, it seems like they juggle too much. There's someone trying to take orders and make coffee, someone else trying to make baked goods and also coffee's and then these same people also take the drinks out to customers.
