I ordered the chicken quesadillas today and they are very tasty and filling. Service is quick and compared to the competition around, the portion size is good. Would recommend for a nice breakfast burrito, taco or quesadilla.

Not good AT ALL! Super disappointed. Two orders definitely not worth the price of $33.41.it was very spicy. Don’t go off the menu prices on the site per Mr. Cashier which he claimed he had no control over on his website, bunch of nonsense. The price did not reflect was I charged. I don’t recommend this place.

This place is an enigma. Every day during the lunch rush hour it’s either dead or on life support. Walked past it on Cinco de Mayo(!) and it was the same story. But when they’re charging $5 for one mediocre *at best* chicken taco, what do you expect?

This place is literally surrounded by buildings full of people who will throw money at any place that serves decent food at decent prices, and they somehow manage to deter even them.

By some black magic it keeps chugging along. I have no idea how it’s stayed open this long. It will remain a total mystery until they either provide the quality the prices reflect, adjust the prices to reflect the actual quality (bad) or the place is either mercifully bought out or run out of business. Luckily, you can walk a few blocks to any number of reasonably priced Mexican restaurants or taco trucks and not feel like you’ve been robbed.

La Cocina is a hidden gem in the Loop, offering authentic Mexican flavors that hit the spot every time. Their chips and salsa are the perfect start, and the service is always friendly and quick. I spent about $15 here, grabbing a hearty burrito. It's a great spot for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.

Ummmm, I won't go back. Unsure if it's downtown, the price, or the day but the food was expensive, overcooked, not fresh. A meal is about $17 without a drink and small sizes. My boyfriend that eats everything because hates wasting food could not finish. This is not mexican food. Chips were the best thing.

It is Tuesday, so you know what that means, tacos! This La Cocina is near Washington and Wells underneath the El. Sort of the less trendy area on Wells but you can find a few gems here and this is one of them! It was my first time to this location. The food is great and on par with the La Cocina location on Lake that is nearby. I had the taco dinner that inclueldes three tacos. I did one of each: El pastor, steak, and chicken. The dinner includes Refried beans and rice. The El Pastor was really, really good and my favorite, the steak was solid too. Chicken was good quality and most mild flavor. I was trying to figure out last week how this location differs from the location on Lake. This location has more of a diner feel, and the location on Lake is more of a restaurant feel.

Went for lunch and ordered the chicken flautas. AWFUL! The chicken was cubed, dry, dark rubbery meat. You can smell the oil that the tortilla was fried in. The rice was also not good. Lacked flavor. Total disappointment and definitely will not be back. The only thing that was good was my soft drink that came in a bottle for $4. They should get some pointers from Cantina on Madison. That food is delicious and authentic. We should've gone there.

I know what a quesadilla is. What I got was poorly seasoned chicken in multiple flour tortilla’s. I received nasty chicken tacos. The quality of the food was meh at best. I know my crew won’t be ordering from this joint at any point in our existence going forward. Food was bland as ever. You get better flavor from the Taco truck off Jackson and Wabash. If you’re thirsty the horchata was acceptable. Do yourself a favor and make a better selection for food.

This is the worst restaurant never order from here if you want good food. If you don't mind the ignorance enter at your own risk. The order was incorrect, and the service when brought to their attention was deplorable. Items were not received, Marlene [I don't think it is her name as she did not want to give it or the owner's name] the cashier said Frank the owner was not available until sometime next week. Does Frank know what his employees are doing? This place is in Downtown Chicago, not in the back alley someplace. They called a taco a quesadilla, my co-worker ordered a burrito and that didn't even arrive. Two other co-workers ordered sour cream cheese and such and the items were not included. I ordered a sope...this is made by hand...a Mexican sope contains the following...masa harina, salt, warm water, oil, or lard if you want to test the waters and mix shape and heat...like tortillas. There is no reason for this item to have a bitter [like too much baking soda] or sour aftertaste. Clearly, in the future I will make my own but part of the reason this works with people is we work together, you provide a service and we purchase the items provided, to which we pay and employment for people. What we received was a lack of good workers, it was people who did not appreciate the consumer and only wanted. What a horrid restaurant, as a Hispanic person I am offended that this is the food that represents my heritage. Shame on you and shame on Marlene for the horrid customer service you provided. Perhaps this is not the best line of work for the type of person you are. They simply had to provide a service and that was not what occurred, don't ever eat at this place, you will get robbed.

This is my 3rd time having La Cocina. My 3rd visit I got the chicken tamale plate. Hair in my tamale and the picture attached is exactly how my food looked when I opened it. Tamale open and u can see I didn’t waste anything in my platter. Done.
