Great veggie burrito. I eat there at least once a week. Yelp says I need to say more, so I'll say I really like la Cocina.

Had a taste for huevos rancheros, it was so delicious but kind of pricey. Great service.

I know what a quesadilla is. What I got was poorly seasoned chicken in multiple flour tortilla’s. I received nasty chicken tacos. The quality of the food was meh at best. I know my crew won’t be ordering from this joint at any point in our existence going forward. Food was bland as ever. You get better flavor from the Taco truck off Jackson and Wabash. If you’re thirsty the horchata was acceptable. Do yourself a favor and make a better selection for food.

This is the worst restaurant never order from here if you want good food. If you don't mind the ignorance enter at your own risk. The order was incorrect, and the service when brought to their attention was deplorable. Items were not received, Marlene [I don't think it is her name as she did not want to give it or the owner's name] the cashier said Frank the owner was not available until sometime next week. Does Frank know what his employees are doing? This place is in Downtown Chicago, not in the back alley someplace. They called a taco a quesadilla, my co-worker ordered a burrito and that didn't even arrive. Two other co-workers ordered sour cream cheese and such and the items were not included. I ordered a sope...this is made by hand...a Mexican sope contains the following...masa harina, salt, warm water, oil, or lard if you want to test the waters and mix shape and heat...like tortillas. There is no reason for this item to have a bitter [like too much baking soda] or sour aftertaste. Clearly, in the future I will make my own but part of the reason this works with people is we work together, you provide a service and we purchase the items provided, to which we pay and employment for people. What we received was a lack of good workers, it was people who did not appreciate the consumer and only wanted. What a horrid restaurant, as a Hispanic person I am offended that this is the food that represents my heritage. Shame on you and shame on Marlene for the horrid customer service you provided. Perhaps this is not the best line of work for the type of person you are. They simply had to provide a service and that was not what occurred, don't ever eat at this place, you will get robbed.

This is my 3rd time having La Cocina. My 3rd visit I got the chicken tamale plate. Hair in my tamale and the picture attached is exactly how my food looked when I opened it. Tamale open and u can see I didn’t waste anything in my platter. Done.

food was alright the egg had a bit of flavor but not that much. The gorditas didn't taste well and the tacos dorados were way to over cooked. They also have no bathroom you would think by them having a place in the city they would have a bathroom. The service of the person taking our order was ok. This Mexican grill is more of a lunch place then a sit down restaurant.

Wife and I came in for breakfast this morning. It’s casual. We had the huevos rancheros and a breakfast burrito. Spicy sauce is spicy so I’d recommend on side unless you’re really a fan of spice. Portions were huge but delicious. Service was prompt and kind. Definitely worth a visit.

Came across this pretty small but okay Mexican place in The Loop. It didn't look like much but it was better than expected if kind of pricy. La Cocina is closer to authentic than you can get from most of these other places it seems. Even so, it's not too authentic for most Americans. The menu has burritos and tacos. A place like this caters to workers downtown. It's only open for breakfast and lunch Mondays to Fridays. That's right, it also has breakfast as in not just the burritos with eggs, but you can order regular burritos and tacos as well. It's $15 for the Burrito Dinner. You get the choice of protein. Has meats such as beef and chicken. I got it with the vegetarian. Comes with sides of beans and rice. The burrito was a massive thing. Even though the plate was kind of expensive, it wasn't too bad for around here. The big ass burrito helped a lot. Has limited hours. It's the worst thing about it except prices. There's a pretty big menu of typical Mexican stuff including things for vegetarians.

Awesome casual Mexican dining. Breakfast was fantastic. I'm a big guy and it was too much food. Wonderful though!

Worst burrito I have ever had more lettuce than steak and it lacked flavor. Why not add beans and rice instead of lettuce? Will not come back.

I ordered a torta and I have to say it could have been better. There was only a little bit of meat and it could have had more toppings. Decent but basic.
