$10 cover fee for a hole in the wall. There are bars downtown that charge less than that. Absolutely a rip off

I used to go here alot a few years ago and the staff was great. Tonight they kinda sucked to be honest. I got a couple drinks, and closed my tab and gave this guy a 35% tip. I decided to stay and came back for another drink. I was told I should have kept the tab open because "it was busy". Kind of reasonable okay, fine, but this guy who spoke to me said it with a crazy bad condescending attitude. Like hello? I just paid $20 to get into your club and geez sorry I got a couple drinks AND tipped you 35%. Am I a horrible person for not keeping my tab open? Seriously fuck you. I love this place but please for God sakes get some better bartenders. What the fuck?! What happened to this place?

Disappointing, the bartenders were rude, especially one of the males. He had his back turned and when I asked him something he sounded as if he was bothered and also answered in a sarcastic way. The energy of the place was not good plus they did not have sports game on tv despite having more than one tv. The rudeness is what really got to me. I am not going back to that place.

$10 cover was wild. It was a pretty empty bar but they had a DJ but you can get a DJ anywhere on a weekend without the cover. So that was strange. They should just let people in, and make their money at the bar like a normal place.I felt bad for the bartenders because it was so slow on a weekend. I did like the music but I probably won't go there again. $10 and no people to flirt with. Nah.

Easily most unwelcoming, small, and dingy clubs in the city if not the world. I love it.Weird late 20th century music is the specialty. The crowd is comprised of literally anyone. I have never seen a more consistently diverse crowd in a dance club. Chubby 40 somethings in cargo shorts seen shimmying alongside Uber goth girls is normal. All ages and all kinds are equally unwelcome here.

I’ve been here a few times at all different hours and there’s never been more than 10 people. I can’t believe they charge to get in this place what happened to the night culture?

The wonderful life lived by its founder Dave, reflected in the staff and DJ's who carry on his tradition here at Late Bar ❤️

Dance! Dance! *drink* Dance! Hadn't been here in years. There's a cover charge now, but it's worth it. DJ's are awesome, rest of staff not so much.

I made out with my wife here once. Would recommend. Good tunes.

This place is a hole in the wall. They charge $10 to enter. It is just a bar with a small dance floor, terrible 80s music, and no ambiance. The drink prices were ok.

The best dance club in Chicago. So good. Everyone is crazy nice. I’ve been a dozen or so times (usually for new wave on Saturday’s) and I meet nice, genuine people every time. Happy that they require proof of vax to this day. Come and dance as you are or want to be in real life. This is truly a judgement free space.
