I have been to lazy bird a couple of times and have had a great experience. However my most recent experience was very disappointing, the wait staff did not take our drinks promptly and we had to wait a while. My friend made a reservation for her birthday and the staff kept reminding us that our reservation was almost up 30 minutes before it actually ended. The worst part was that my favorite drink, corpse reviver 2 wasn’t great.

My friends and I have been going to this bar for a while, we do monthly cocktail nights because we are all very busy and love protecting this space for our friendship. However, the last 3 visits the service has been very rude and unprofessional.
One time we had been seated at a table and then while we were still drinking they came over and said “as you know, we have a reservation for this space and you need to leave.” We, in fact, did not know and had just ordered another round of drinks. We were surprised because we had spend so much already (3 drinks per person) and were still actively ordering. They harassed us with different staff and gave us the stink eye until we were done.
We love the drinks and having a familiar space so we came back for my birthday. This time I made a reservation but they treated us just as badly, after being seated for less than an hour they told us it was “last call” for us because of our time limit of 90 mins, there were still at least 3 other open tables so we thought it wouldn’t be so strict. Also, there was a 4 top table near that was empty from before we sat down until when we were being pushed out so I’m wondering why we were being targeted. I say targeting because we felt it the whole time, we struggled to get the attention of the wait staff to order more drinks and given the short time we only got to try about 2 drinks each.
Usually when we have gone for our monthly gatherings we drink up to 6 drinks over the course of a lovely night but we have been offended that we have left early twice now.
Why do we keep going back? Well the drinks are lovely and we keep assuming that it’s not us, the staff may be having a bad night. But, after this last trip I’m over it. I even let them know it was my birthday and they said nothing. I thought there would at least be acknowledgment by the host. At the end when I mentioned this to staff they were dismissive but did bring me a moscato after telling me to drink it standing so we could give up our seating.
I’ve seen some other reviews that express strong attentiveness and consideration by manger and staff, my question is why my friends and I have been treated so differently on several occasions. Is it race? Is it class? There’s definitely some condescension consistent throughout my experiences.
Long story longer- go there to enjoy the drinks but don’t expect to be made to feel welcomed in the traditional Chicago hospitality way.

Menu only has Steak, Fries and Choc Cake. I get it...but that's a very light offering. Steak was VERY good though. Chimichurri delish. Really enjoyed the service, ambience (even though it was CROWDED). Make a resy if you want to sit. I was grateful not to have to fight to get to the bar. Mia & Reese were attentive and awesome. Music was nice, even when the entertainer wasnt singing. I like her, but her sets are very short. Drink menu is eclectic. Lots of different types of cocktails. Great experience, I'll be back
Best drinks! And fun atmosphere.

We hosted a bachelorette party for a group of 14 at Lazy Bird and couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience. We planned everything months in advance, and the event coordinator was incredibly helpful, especially in assisting us with the hors d'oeuvres order and making sure everything was gluten free.
On the day of the event, the entire staff went above and beyond. Our server was attentive, the hostess was so sweet, and the manager made sure everything ran seamlessly. Even though the bar was packed, the team stayed on top of everything, and our table was always well taken care of.
We had originally booked our table until 10 p.m., but the manager kindly let us stay as long as we wanted since there were no other reservations after us. That thoughtful gesture meant a lot, as he could have easily split the section to accommodate more guests but instead made sure our group could really enjoy the night.
Lastly, it was also important to note that the performer, JENIPHER JONES, really made our night. She gave our bride her 10 minutes on stage where she danced the night away (for 10 minutes) as Jennifer serenaded us with her beautiful voice.
While the catering menu wasn’t the most flavorful, the portions were generous and perfect for sharing, exactly what we expected for the occasion. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would absolutely book another event here.

This is for the extremely rude, pompous, mean, and presumptuous main door head manager/bouncer last night loudly laughing at and mocking my friend. The actual servers were very nice and the music was lovely.

My first time going and it was great! I do think there needs to be more than one server taking drink orders and delivering them for the tables.

Randomly closed on a Saturday night?
Lazy Bird has the best vibe and atmosphere; sophisticated and slightly romantic. The drinks are delicious.
Impressive signature cocktails
Had a great time, food was good but the bartender Jackie was the best. Will return again!

This place is great but entirely too too crowded. It's really difficult to enjoy the vibe when you can't really walk around or get up to see the performers because too many people have been granted entry. We even had people sitting at our table that weren't with our party because they just took the seats. I also was brought the wrong drink which I think goes to show it's too busy. Also ALWAYS a bathroom line!
