We’ve visited Le Bar on many occasions since we always stay at the Sofitel when we’re in Chicago. I highly recommend the service and attention, especially from the bartender Antonio—he truly makes our experience enjoyable, as does the rest of the staff There’s just one small thing I’d like to mention: at exactly 11 PM, the lights are suddenly turned on, which feels a bit abrupt—almost like being in a low-end nightclub. It kind of disrupts the great vibe everyone is enjoying. I believe a more subtle approach would be more fitting for the elegant atmosphere of Le Bar. That said, we still give 5 stars for the excellent service and the amazing drinks!

Female Manager has a couple screws loose. Maybe more than a couple. Out of line and pathetic. The Sofitel is a 5 star hotel I believe for the Chicago area. She shouldn’t reflect the hotel but unfortunately she does because she acts like she has authority on the grounds of the hotel. Also the beautiful patio is full of cigarette buds that have accumulated over a long period of time. Maybe clean your patio. Looks like trash. I think it’s a law people should not be smoking so close to the door.

Recently stayed at the Sofitel for a few nights and most nights would go to Le Bar. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Clayton and Antonio for being so kind and giving us nothing but exceptional service. I will definitely be back next time!

We were there a few weeks ago. Barkeep (young guy from Ohio) was super friendly, unfortunately I forgot his name. Gave us tips for the city and things to do & see. Drinks were pretty decent, too! Prices are as expected for an upscale Hotel bar.
Pricey, a bit, but it is a really nice looking bar with top shelf selection. The bar’s coubtertop has really fancy materials!

I usually hang out a little further south of the Sofitel, but I was walking in the area the other night and decided to stop in to Le Bar and check it out. I am a huge fan of hotel bars. I was greeted right away by a nice server, Israel. It wasn’t super packed, so Israel was able to check on me frequently and always had a smile. He mentioned a few speciality cocktails, I tried one and it was very good; also tried one of his appetizer recommendations, which was very tasty. Israel was very friendly and chatted with me a little bit; gave me a few recommendations in the area to try on another night, so that was fun and I had a great time. I will definitely be going back to enjoy Le Bar again very soon. Service was wonderful; gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I thought the lights were on too bright in the bar for a nice evening.

This is right next door to our condo so we like to frequent here. Unfortunately, on this last visit (Tuesday 6/18 at about 6:45 pm) we had a terrible experience. Sat down at a table in the bar area. A waiter immediately came over and took our drink order (he was great). However, the manager was holding an employee meeting at the bar so they didn't think it important to make our drinks. We waited. Nothing. Ten minutes pass and the meeting adjourns. My husband gets up and says something to the bartender - that we ordered drinks and had been waiting and we're going to leave now. He said "oh ok". Not, sorry let me get those for you. We left. My husband was so annoyed he went back in asked for the manager. She was standing right there and didn't speak up. It was if she was afraid. He explained what happened and she offered nothing, not even a slight apology, nada. He left. A shame because we live so close by.
