Terrible service. The owner is very rude and you,and you can yell that James Beard award has gotten to their heads. Smoque BBQ on the Northside is infinitely better. Lems doesn't even have a brisket(or any beef for that matter) They've just been around for a long time.
My first time visiting a South Side (and Chicago) institution. Everything I expected from Chicago BBQ and then some - friendly but no-nonsense service, fatty, juicy meat smothered in flavorful sauce, no frills counter service and no silverware, and music playing as you wait outside, whatever the weather. I just tried the tips, which had lots of bones and cartilage you have to pick through, but I thought it actually made eating them more fun. (I don't have bbq very frequently.)...
