Great ambience. Coffee, beer and brownie were okay, also price-wise. Service could be more attentive.

I want to take a moment to recognize Jay for his exceptional kindness toward us ladies. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. His thoughtfulness was truly appreciated.

This would be a great restaurant if it weren't located in Chicago. Food was good but selection was sparse and the atmosphere feels like a hotel restaurant.

Douglas makes a MEAN dirty martini — great service :)

I ordered room service so I can't speak for the restaurant's atmosphere, but the food was terrific. The fries might be some of the best in town, and the turkey sandwich had a lot going on (in a very good way).

Just came across this place on Google maps and thought we'd give it a try. Did not realize it was in a hotel. A very beautiful hotel. We were there for breakfast and the food was very good. I had a stack of the brownie pancakes and they were delicious. The service was quick and friendly.

This how you know when HR is lying from the Palmer House.
"We Received several applications for this position, and the hiring process has been a very competitive one. Although, we were impressed with your qualifications, we have decided to not to move your application forward." This is an example of patronizing with a condescending tone. The problem with HR is that no one has a proper education. HR is know for constantly making things up while promoting nepotism. I'm glad that I did not get this dead-end job. Whenever HR says " we encourage you to pursue opportunities with Hilton, etc.." It is a slap in the face and a major insult.
Nice atmosphere. Hostess was lacking personality during breakfast hours. The breakfast sandwich was good, and the biscuits/gravy was flavorful. The coffee was not hot.

Pricy, not a good value for money.
Service was a bit slow.
Difficult to have the bill split for the table even though the server was proud to say that "this is Hilton".

I had lunch here with my wife at the beginning of our Route 66 road trip. I had seared tuna and she had turkey. They have real Lavazza espresso. It was a nice experience, especially being able to see the lobby of the historic Palmer House hotel.

Celebrated with family and friends. Everyone's meal was cooked to perfection! We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the customer service. Lockwood is really fantastic. They are the best hotel in the area. I'd definitely visit this place again.

Went in for a nightcap 04/06. Sat at the bar for 10min. Bartender did not greet us, she, (Asian female), was adjusting her credit card tips. I said, excuse Miss 3 times before she looked my way, as if I was bothering her. I said, "Are you still open?" She shook her head no. The issue I have is that she looked at me as if I wasn't supposed to be there. The issue is she didn't acknowledge my guest and I for 10 minutes of sitting at the bar. It doesn't take much to say, "How are you? My apologies but my bar is closed right now", Instead of ignoring us and focusing on closing. I understand wanting to leave work after a long day/night, but it makes a HUGE difference to just communicate with your guests. It goes a long way.

Food is rather expensive for what you get. The service was understaffed and had to constantly ask for more coffee and additional condiments.

Tentative service even when they are busy. It is great convenience to stay at the Palmer hotel and have daily $25 credit toward the restaurant. Came here for breakfast everyday we stayed at the hotel. They know their food well. Everything was done with good timing. Absolutely delighted to have fluffy egg omelette and tasty muffin. The biscuit and gravy was delicious. The brownie pancakes were a treat. Beautiful lobby and dining area. Would highly recommend anyone to try their menu. Classic and wonderfully prepared.
